Yea, they had quite enough of me.

I saved them the effort and turned in my resig.

So I think I have three more weekends...

I plan to give my books to those coffee shops that allow alternative reading.

I do not get unemployment....so we will have to tighten the belt. Many of you have been in this place before.

At my age and weight, I should sell my skin for advertisement space. Many tattoos in this area.

Maybe I could ???? help me with this?????

Walk into a snow blizzard in my old age, like our native Americans used to do, just sounds way to cold for me.

I can't stay with my kids. they quit answering the phone..

I could get arrested by laying down in some busy street.... but I do not like jail food....

I am tool old to fight for our country...I tried that.

I could go to a third world country and work.....but I, ah, hmm really do not like work...

please hulp this old bouy..

when I fail....I am pulled

B'rer Lon!

Welcome to the world of retirement!

Ahhh...the golden, er, pewter years...

I remember when I first retired, it was way back last century when we still used the wheel, and as I recall, the dollar was sound as a pound or Deutschemark.

Don't worry none; the gov'ment will take care o' Ya!

But all seriousness aside, Dear friend--hope You figure this through and don't get discouraged. What did I tell You years ago? Oh, yeah--I would NEVER hire You (or me, either), but there is always a bigger fool out there. And just look at all the jobs gumment is creatin'! You're bound to get one of them!

I have a third world country I've adopted...which half do You want??

Ah Lon, I'm so sorry to hear it. I can't imagine why this might have happened as I think you're a wise soul and they are lucky to have you.

You'll come up with something, my friend. I'm sure of it. Actually, I think you should write a book with all your escapades. They make us crack up and I'd be willing to bet they'd put a smile and a chuckle on others too. Think of it as semi-retirement.

You know I'm there for you. We all are.

Love and Great Big Hugs,

Kat

Hey Lon!!
I hate to hear this.. I've been down this road too. It will take some change and adjusting, but it is doable. I'm sure that you will find something to keep out of Lin's hair..
Keep us posted, brother!!

((Lon)) We have SO been there. I am sorry. I am going to briefly tell you our story. I had to go on disability at 43 and I was responsible for more than half our income. We wondered what in the world we would do with increasing medical bills and less than half the money. Six years later when I was 49 and my husband was 51 we got caught in the oil industry downsizing. In six years we went from a very good income to zilch. We thought no big deal with all of his experience. Wrong. Being over 50 is not a good place to be without a job. He worked at this and that making minimum wage. You know what....God is true to His word. We have never missed a meal. We have never missed a payment. We moved to a newer home. The wheels kept on turning.

We did our tax return and I said "There is no way on earth that this could have worked" and my husband said, "No, but there is in Heaven".

You are going to be fine. Not a lot of extras for us but certainly everything we need.

How are you doing?

Praying for you.
Hugs. Possi and Co.

Hi Lon,

Sorry to hear you have had to quit your job. I do remember when I left my job I felt such relief, and I actually was able to sleep again at night. When I couldn't sleep at least I didn't have to get up and go to work. In Canada you would be able to apply for Canada Pension Disability Pension. I sure hope there is something like that in the U>S. I sure hope you start to feel better. how is the eye that had the cataract removed ? Are you still voiding blood ?

Hugs,
Janet

How about some type of counciling? You would be good at that. You have a good ear and a big heart. I know that God will find a way,He always does.
