I just wanted to say that I am no stranger to injecting myself i've been doing it for nearly two years now and have tried all the tips and tricks.
I was injecting myself for 6 months with Humira and putting up with severe site reactions that made me severly itch to the point of restraining myself from taking a scrubbing brush to it, I also got no sleep and was very uncomfortable sometimes not even being able to put clothes over the site but i still did my injections.
Then i got pulled off them and put on Enbrel which i have been injecting since january so for the last 10 month i've injected and put up with the stinging and the anxiety and the stress before i do it, so this stuggle that i'm having at the minute is not just a wim desision i havent just been offered these meds and flatly refused to do them (which i know some people personally that have done.)
I just wrote what I was feeling i dont have any friends to rant to and my family dont understand and think its easy.
I know theres loads of you out there that cope and do your injections even though they hurt like hell and i'm so glad for you i really am.
The thing is telling me to grin and bare it is your opinion which is fair enough but it doesnt help.
Thankyou for ALL your replies. SORRY RANT OVER

done). I

I am on Simponi now. I get no stings or itchies from the injection pen.

When I was on Enbrel and Humira in the past, my skin would get red and itchy for days around the injection site and the pens were extremely painful.

So sorry your injections are hurting you and causing anxiety. I do think you should try the shot in your stomach. It doesn't hurt as much there for some reason. Just think about your worst AS pain you have ever had and tell yourself the shot will bring you pain relief from your AS and improve your quality of life. You gotta use self talk!

Going on and off biologics caused me to develop severe hypersensitivity reactions to biologics. I wouldn't want that to happen to you. I think it s best to not go on and off these drugs. Stick with one biologic for as long as you can.

Good luck! Keep us posted.

Shari

Well done!!! I'm so glad the tummy didn't hurt a much. It was a revelation to me how much less it hurt in the fattiest part of me. grin I'm so glad it was better for you, too.

Warm Hugs,
