If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I have known that I have AS for a couple of years now but have been in total denial. I am or was an athletic 28 year old and I have had a bad back most of my life. It's getting worse so I need to get it together. This constant battle is getting depressing. I just found this sight today and I am amazed at how many of you suffer like me. I'm sorry this sucks. So I have made yet another apt. with Crappy Kaiser and a new doctor. I have not slept well in six years and I'm getting kind of tired. I was hoping for some advice on meds. I have taken a ton of vicodin, motrin 800, flexeril, and a lot of other ineffective stuff. I need something that works. I suffer from hip and spine pain that seem to never go away and I am stiff as a board I just wish I could remember what it felt like to be pain free. My problem is that I have to get up at 5am every morning for work and I need some SERIOUS pain relief that won’t keep me real drowsy in the morning. Any advice on sleeping and pain relief you can offer would be so great. I hope to hear from many of you. I hate to think about all of you out their in pain like me, I never thought a sight like this would exist let alone a few. Thanks, (painful) BONES

Welcome to our growing AS family Bones.
Look forward to hearing more about you and how you are dealing with AS. The best way to start getting to know everyone here is to just start asking questions on any topic re AS you feel is important to you. You'll be surprised at how quickly you will make new friends and you'll find yourself contributing your experiences to others on the board. Everyone who comes here does have something to contribute.
Hope to keep seeing you around.
George

Hi Bones and welcome! Glad you found this site, you will learn a lot here from people that have tons of experience with this disease. Check out the meds. listed in the pharmacy and ask your Doctor about pain medication that may not linger into the next morning. To date I have not found anything that effective and am still tired out all the time from the medications. Good luck to you and I hope you find something that helps you get the pain under control.
Kelly.

Hi Bones..... Welcome!! I'm allergic to most As meds out there....so I have relied mostly on muscle relaxants on the hard to get some sleep flare up's! I use Soma most of the time. It helps me get some sleep...without any side effects. I have used Skelaxin as well and it is just as effective. Take care....and best of luck on your visits with the Bone doc! Toodles! Angie

Just a sponge here Ray? You've got to be kidding. Every one of us would disagree with that.
As per usual, you are always among the first to make all the newcomers welcome here, help them with their posting and any other problems in getting around the board. You've been setting a standard here on how to make people feel good and how to get the newcomers to keep coming back.
A sponge? No way. You are one of the reasons that KickAS is growing so quickly. You are our "Ray" of light that makes this place shine so bright.

Welcome to kickAS. There is a great wealth of information available here so browse around. I have only know about AS for 1 1/2 years. I am currently taking vioxx once a day and have found it to be very effective in reducing pain and increasing mobility.
