You are right. I forgot about the kraut thing. It really does work and I rather enjoy it just not every day. :o)

Thanks for the reminder.

Hi Mike,

only made it to the pool Monday and Friday last week, spent 2 days in bed, in pain and exhausted. at times this disease can really take it out of you. fibro pain was through the roof. Will be going back to the pool if the rest of the weekend goes well. Cut out one pill in the afternoon but that is all I am able to do. Hope swimming lessons goes well. let us know how it goes. Have you joined Erika's swim team? If you are doing laps that might help the group meet their next goal. hope your shoulders are able to handle the swim. We all tend to over do it and then pay for it later.

hi Possi,

I really think my doctor wants to know if it is possible to take less because I really never tried. Most times I make it 3 to 3 1/2 hours before the pain starts ramping up again. So I really don't think I am taking too much. But I will give it a go and see what happens. Believe me if I am miserable he will know about it. He knows that I am pretty serious about my pain management and don't abuse them. I took one less pill this afternoon and was in more pain but I was really active today so we shall see what happens tomorrow.

Thanks for the warning on the cherry pie. I let everyone else have a slice first and no one got sick, then I ate the rest...Mmmmmmm Mmmmmmm. hope you are feeling better since you fell out of the tree. I will let you heal a little more before I ask for another cherry pie.

Thanks for your support!!!

hi Steve

Glad to hear you we're able to cut down, I am going to try and if I can do it and not be in more pain that will be great. Even with what I am taking I am still in pain 24/7 it just dulls it to the point of making it tolerable. If my doc gives me any trouble I may need Bruno to pay him a visit. If I need him I may need you to give me his phone number. wink

hi Brad,

Thank you for your post, good advice as usual. I don't think my doc wants me off of them completely just wants to see if I could get by on less. Unfortunately the answer to both your questions is yes. I will try to reduce my dose to appease him but not to my detriment. It's bad enough having to live with the pain that we do without making it worse. If cutting down doesn't work I am sure he will understand. I have been on this dose for two years and have not asked for an increase.

Thanks again Brad. It is nice to see you posting again.

hi Rumble,

I am taking 5 mg tablets oxycodone IR. so two tablets three times a day for a total of 30mg. Per day. I plan on cutting out one pill every week if I can.

If Possi makes you a pie make sure to feed it to others and see if they get sick before you eat it. She might be using bad lard and rotten fruit. shocked

Thanks for your post hope work continues to go well for you.

it is too bad that narcotics get such a bad rap because some people abuse them. There are a lot of misconceptions about these drugs. For those of us with chronic pain they are a godsend.

hi Janet

I already take a small dose of Amitriptylin at night which helps me sleep and also it helps me avoid migraines. I tried Tylenol and it does nothing for the pain. my doctor told me if I went slow enough I would not get physically sick.

The pool is great. I feel very fortunate to have this program in our city

Hope you are doing well Janet. Thanks for all your advice and support. smile

Hi Sue

I use Voltaren topical on my knees and shoulders and Cymbalta for pain which really helps. The pool has been the best painkiller. Gentle exercises in 90 degree water for 40 minutes really starts the afternoon off right. The electric blanket at night helps because your body doesn't have to work and use up energy to maintain body temp. I was one of those who thought diet could not make that much of a difference but I was so wrong. It has made a world of difference.

P.S. if Possi sends you a pie....DON'T EAT IT!!!
