It can cause quite a bit of pain. Now that I have some Marijuana cream to rub on it, it helps a lot and quick.

Dx Oct 2006 B27+ undifferentiated spondlyarthropathy (uSpA) with mild sebhorrhoeic dermatitis and mild Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) controlled by NSD since 2007.

Pea,inkyfingers,sue 22 thanks for your replies, can you tell how do that corner stretch or door stretch? simplysouthern! !!! Its not cardiac related thanks to god, I went to a cardiologist he checked my EKG and said it was okay and Knowing my AS condition he said" check your pulses yourself if you have pain the next time "and he also said no cardiac screening is recommended for AS sufferers

Just lever off your back foot onto your front foot - keep your chin/head tucked back in line with your body....lean into the corner and slowly count to 15...every few days add another 5 sec until you can do it for 1 minute. Do this at least 5x through the day!

Another good one - you can do this with a couple of tightly rolled towels (secure with a couple of rubber bands...) or else a smaller diameter pool noodle - really cheap to buy.

The door version - smaller framed women usually can't manage to connect the forearms with the sides of the door frame. If you can - one foot in front of the other.... If you can't reach the door frame, I don't recommend doing it with the elbows 'free' (below) as you get a lot of torsion (twist) on the shoulder capsule... Also, don't arch your back:
