Has anyone tried PRP (platelet rich prolotherapy ) for AS/psoriatic arthritis/osteoarthritis ? I am sitting on the fence ( and it hurts now -:) with the meds Rheumy offers ( now BuTrans patch, Tramadol for break thru)
I REALLY want to keep running/exercising and am terrified that the BuTrans will absorb too quickly....
Has anyone used the patches and how did you react to them ? Doc won't give me LDN ( he doesnt know enough about it ) and my kidneys shut down rather quickly after only 8 months of NSAIDS .....
He doesnt want to go the DMARD / antiTNF route yet since my CRP/ESR are low ( likely thanks to my mega dosing with Boron and Omega 3, and running daily....) Only viable choices I can see are BuTrans , Cymbalta and or PRP. Any thoughts /other choices ? Is it worth it to try ordering LDN without a prescription or too dangerous ???
I feel like I only know the tip of the iceberg , and am caught in a vicious cycle of too much pain, thus unable to exercise some days and getting very non functional at work .....
Thanks in advance !

I've read a bit about prolotherapy but am skeptical….the premise seems to be to inject something into the joints that causes an inflammatory response which is supposed to "heal" tendons. But I always figured my problem was too much inflammation so how could this be good. Its just me being skeptical, no experience to feel this way…..I've often been proven wrong, so if you try it and have good effects, I'd like to know. Hope someone can give you an experienced viewpoint, not just an opinion.

I've not used pain med patches but do use a flector patch over my SI joint. These are nsaid patches. All oral nsaids that work for me give me side effects of gastritis and/or edema. But the flector patches cause me no side effects. They won't help big flares, but do help my lower level chronic daily inflammation and pain there. Most days very little pain there so long as I don't overstress the SI joint.

I am finally on Humira; best decision ever made…wish I had done it sooner….seriously, consider it….

and my CRP and ESR has always been relatively low….very common for these to be low for spondyloarthropathy…..either mine have been low because I had the tests when not in a flare, but others have said they are low even in a flare…elevated makes it easier for doctors to believe…but a good rheumatologists knows that negative results don't matter….pain and symptoms are much much more important.

LDN: if they doctor doesn't know enough about it, educate that doctor. Go to http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov and use pubmed. Type in naltrexone crohns and start there. Go to http://www.lowdosenaltrexone.org and show the doctor the safety of the drug. Or call the local compounding pharmacy, ask which local doctors prescribe LDN, and go to that doctor…probably a naturpath.

There are other ways: manual PT, chiro, interventionalists, physiatrists, pain management, etc. Use whatever works. I've used them all along the way, as it took me 12 years to find a rheumatologist that could and would diagnose and treat me. Now I'm on Humira. But still use a chiro and interventionalist.

Spondyloarthropathy, HLAB27 negative
Humira (still methylprednisone for flares, just not as often. Aleve if needed, rarely.)

* Get a new doctor
* Prolotherapy...Hmmmmm Introduccing inflammation ????
* LDN is 'not' a 'dangerous' drug. Known side effects are rare, the main one being some vivid dreams or, disturbed sleep for 'some' people - over six years on I am still waiting for my first dream ! LDN is a benign medication with great efficacy
* You can purchase LDN without a doctor's Rx...
* Elevated CRP / ESR is not a prerequisite for a diagnosis of AS !

Go well, take care -

I did it ! I found a website ( BuyLDN from Israel Pharmacy ) The only one that would ship to Canada ....hopefully it is reputable ...at least not too expensive ! Cant wait to try LDN ( so excited- hope they arrive soon ! ) How soon might I notice a difference ??
The PRP I would only consider as an intra articular injection but yes it might cause more inflammation than I need right now .....I will put my results up if I do go ahead with this option as well .....
Thanks for your guidance everyone ! Sue and Molly you gals know so much I really appreciate the help ! - I will be bringing a "book" with all the info for my doc next time ( great links !) - maybe can find a naturopath within a few hours of me too
I needed to hear that re CRP and ESR - I was beginning to second guess it all ....my X-ray and MRI were pretty clear on the AS at least - and current doc was spot on with finding the psoriasis and rosacea .....

Please note Canadian supplier -

LDN Suppliers -

Here is what I have collected so far, and keep in mind to check shipping rates and delivery times. It has been brought to my attention that even though a pharmacy lists Pay Pal, it may or may not be used for non Rx items for legal reasons, so don't risk delaying your purchase by thinking you can use P P. Also please keep in mind that these costs do not take into consideration quantity and shipping. This is just a starting point and prices do change.

Some have reported using a Pre Paid Visa, you can get them on line via Walmart.com. as an example. I have heard that Walgreen's pre paid Visa is no longer accepted overseas. If a pill costs on an average $2.50 and makes 50 ml from one 50 mg pill, if you take 1.5 ml dose, divide 50 ml by 1.5 mg, equals 33.3 doses. you can see from that many doses from one pill how the savings can mount since you are paying for the pills yourself. use this website
http://ldn-for-cancer.com/takeldn.html to read how to make your own.

SHELF LIFE OF PILLS LISTED ON BLISTER PACKAGE IS 3 YEARS

In House Pharmacy This pharmacy has free shipping on any quanity of pills and costs are as low as $2.36 per brand name Naltrexone pills. As of April 2014 this pharmacy now requires a prescription.

http://www.unitedpharmacies.com $2.40-$1.85 /pill $7.50 flat shipping. Some think pills are not good, and there were different taste between packages. One couple told me that their Visa card was fraudulently used after a purchase from them was made. The Visa cards sole purpose was for Naltrexone at UP. Luckily fraud alert was able to stop it before too much damage was done. I also heard a second report about being over charged and a pre-paid card did not allow it to go through, then again, some customers have had no problems at all, use caution.

{SECURE} https://www.canadapharmacy.com $2.70/pill Ordered thru WA. sent from ?

{SECURE} https://www.riverpharmacy.ca $4.45 per tablet and two week delivery. No Rx needed shipped from India but order routed thru Canada. Be sure order totals $160 to qualify for $25 free shipping

http://indianpharmaonline.com/buy_revia_en-us.htm $5.68/pill at 90 pills. 2-3 weeks to ship. $10.00 shipping.

http://www.alldaychemist.com $1.90/pill No Rx needed sent from Cyprus routed thru ? $25 shipping. They have had 2 credit card hackings reported. Was told approx. 10 day ship, but delivery has been from 3 weeks to 3 months, especially over the holidays. It has been reported that this pharmacy sells its phone numbers. Please be careful what info you give out, sometimes cheap is not worth the trouble. Many customers are very happy with them. Verify if Visa is taken or not before ordering, if you plan to use that card. It has been reported that that someone's card had been hacked for more than a $1000.00 please be careful with this site.

http://shop4ldn.com $7.40/pill for 40 pills. No Rx needed if not a resident of Mexico. Reports of fast and secure shipping to US and worldwide. They ship pills in flat envelopes to International addresses. They ship in the bottle to the US as it is not a problem getting them through customs in a box. To get them through customs in some other countries, they take them out of the bottle and ship them flat in sterile baggies, with labeling. You might notice that no pharmacist gives us pills in the original bottle -- they are taken out, counted out and then put in a new container with a new label specifically for that patient. That is what this pharmacy does. They count them out and put them in a flat container for easy shipping.

http://ozpharmacy.com.au $10.00/pill but actually sells them as 4.5mg pills at $.87/pill, and uses a very small amount of Lactose as a filler in their pharmacy made tablets of any made in less than 50 mg. I understand he buys a pure brick of Naltrexone from Germany. RX NEEDED. unable to check prices as site was down.

AMERICAN AND FOREIGN COMPOUNDING PHARMACIES:

http://www.buyldn.com sells 1-4.5 mg capsuls w/o prescription, Thirty 4.5 mg for $50 including shipping $1.67 per pill

http://www.antiaging-systems.com/113-naltrexone
This is the only place I know to get LDN 4.5 mg without prescription
so it is good to know about.
They are in GB but transactions go through Panama. Good reputation. Their billing is now done in Mexico. This caused my VISA bank to block the purchase. I was able to complete the order by calling the bank, but they gave me only a few hours in which to finish the order. This bank is blocking every transaction in Mexico. Purchase knowing the above.

Many people have problems with Candida, so I thought I would list the drug

Lufenuron for control of Candida which is available at http://shop4ldn.com

among other places.

Scientific Research into Low Dose Naltrexone is not supported by drug companies. A number of researchers own patents on different uses of LDN and they kindly permit individuals worldwide to use these important medications without restriction. In order to assist in supporting the important scientific research into LDN we will list pharmacies that have agreed to donate some of their profits to LDN research. http://www.ldnscience.org/ldn-a-ogf-suppliers

Normally I don't list US pharmacies that require a prescriptions but had a request to post this one.

The Medicine Store (Marty Donovan)
Concord, New Hampshire
Tel: (603) 225 2747

Prices are as follows and please add $5 for shipping (only within the USA

2.0mg $41.23 for a 90 day supply

3.0mg $45.74 for a 90 day supply

4.5mg $50.23 for a 90 day supply

He can supply different dose, whatever the script says. What is being used is pure Naltrexone powder with lactose or cellulose as fillers, but is open to corn starch and researching others. If anyone has an issue with fillers, please talk to him, he’s happy to help. The company he gets the Naltrexone powder from provides a certificate of authenticity as they test the LDN.

I just got my order from buyldn today. Smooth process altogether. You'll need a little dropper or syringe with measuring units, though. Unless there's another really simple way to do it that I'm not thinking of.

I need to go get one but will be starting soon after.

Keep us posted and good luck
