For the last year and two months, I've been experiencing pain in my cosix. I told my pain Dr about it,he ordered X-ray of cosix. While I was waiting for the tech to tell she was done. She asked if I'd fallen or had an accident. My reply was no to all her questions. Pain Dr set up trigger point injections. Sadly they did nothing. The pain Dr reached out to John's Hopkins & Cleveland Clinic nothing but a suggestion. So another round of injections. That produced nothing in regards to fixing my pain. So two weeks ago I get an MRI for a second opinion. This Dr won't work on me. My tailbone needs to be shaved down or removed!! Seems I'm sitting on the curvature of cosix. It hurts so bad it's all I can do to be sitting up while drinking am coffee.

Does anybody else have this issue? Donuts are for eating not sitting

Before I knew I had this little thing called AS. My tailbone hurt so bad I quit riding mules, mountain biking and motorbike riding. Once I got a hold of the inflammation in my body it slowly went away over a period of months along with the severe sciatica i was dealing with.

Hello, I am the poster listed above who had made a post about the poor neglected coccyx and how it is ignored in many ways by the medical community even though it affects: sitting, walking, standing, lifting, carrying and anything you may think of that involves hips or spine.

I still have my sitting disability and a donut is not a help in my situation.

If you are interested, there is a forum for people with sitting issues. It's international and based in Norway but there is an English forum. People have various medical issues with a common effect of sitting pain.

I seen another Dr. Who said he won't operate. I'm tired of this fight. I was asked to go to Pittsburgh hospital. I've not made my mind up on that. I can't afford another no and a painful trip for nothing.

It is difficult and disheartening. After doctors focusing on one single aspect or another instead of seeing me as a whole... I would list ALL symptoms from toes to eyes and everything in between. And then insisted that each doctors office had to put the list of symptoms in my file.

My tail bone issue is flaring up again. If I just recline in a zero gravity chair, I'm ok but if I move around, it wears be out quickly. I may end up having to go to a neurologist for my coccydinia.

Pezami- in my case it seems that AS moves into areas like the coxic (sp). At times the SI joints are worse and yet not the tailbone. At times the tailbone is so much worse...
Standing or laying down at times helps a little,
