If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I'm still laughing at the thought of security subduing you on Jerry Springer! You have a wonderful imagination. Did you know that you can put a suggestion for a show on Oprah's website? I think this group is something that would be very appropriate for that show. I looked at the site, but didn't put the suggestion in. After all, it's your idea and I think it's a great one.
I don't think there is any support group this active on the internet and where personal relationships have grown from it. Danvon is visiting Doug in the hospital and taking messages to him from the group, and this has happened before! The parties have created lasting personal relationships. Some group members call each other. And this is on a global scale with members in the US, Canada, UK, and I have seen posters on here from South Africa and Australia on occasion. This group shows that the power of the internet can be used in a very positive way, and AS is such a rare disease that this is the only way we can really get the support of other ASers in a major way. I think we could be an inspiration to people with other types of problems.
Go Linc, go!!!

When my husband died last winter I received phone calls from everywhere from KAers, including Australia, and it was such a comfort to me, to know that my friends here were truly my friends, there to lend a helping hand when one of us - - in this case me - - was going through a really bad time. No place else like it on the Net Cheryl Dogs love it when you leave your clothes on the floor

Hi Johnny, I could not let this post go by without adding my two cents or at least letting you know that I too care very much. I hear the sadness and fear in your voice and my heart goes out to you. I know sympathy isn't really want you want, it's understanding and we all can offer that in more ways than one from all our different experiences. Your post did make me draw on something myself, which I felt the need to share. Yes, I have a husband and family who do care for me, but it doesn't always make a difference because AS and pain puts us in a world of lonliness anyway...no matter how many peope are around. It's a feeling inside of ourselves that we will struggle with no matter how many people are in our lives. Either way, we have to fight it. I guess my point is even if you had that someone special, this feeling wouldn't totally go away... I am not saying that having someone around doesn't make it easier. I know better, but what I am saying is, the feeling of lonliness will still be there. We still have to have to try to overcome it and not let it get the best of us. There are millions of people in this world, so in reality, we aren't alone. Like it was mentioned already though...people won't just come to us...we do have to reach out to make it happen somehow. Only we ourselves have the power to change that, although it can be difficult. I was a single mother for what seems like millions of years and I longed for that adult, one on one attention that seemed like it would never come along. It did, but thanks to my children I had something to live for while waiting, so what your saying does make a difference,(which I am sure everyone knows) but life has a way of surprising us, but we have to take chances. Everyone here came together for you and I love that about this place. You have so many loving friends and that's much more than alot of people can say...whether it's in cyberspace or not. Your special and have the courage, looks and personality that most woman would give anything for, but you have to take the chance and let them see the side of you that we see. I wish for you all the great things you deserve and hope with all my heart that somehow you get through this. I see the struggles of many here, but what your going through is one of the hardest because nothing is worse than pain and lonliness put together. I hope at least one of these types of pain let's up soon. Would be great if it was both. We can only hope and pray, which is what I will do for you. Hugs to you, Lisa

Hey Rox, Yeah, I have some very supportive friends who are part of a couple and they very generously share with me how difficult the relationship is quite often, and they constantly help me to disspell my illusions while supporting me in finding a decent bloke. I know what you mean about children to fill gaps and emptiness..not a good idea..but I do understand that kiddies can just plain keep one going by sheer necessity, which I appreciated and would have loved in life...BUT!!!..No, not to 'use' them for our own ends..I'm totally with you on that one! Hey,,how about that single's forum!!! That's two of us so how do we go about lobbying the idea SISTER! tee-hee..could have some fun now! I'm pretty excited about the prospect..'cause AS and being totally alone with it is REALLY HARD!!!!!AND that forum could be very empowering and take away some of that aloneness..apart from the rest of the great folks here..a forum like that would be really understanding of that aspect of it and a special place to get those particular issues out..on an ongoing basis..as singledom certainly can be an on going situation, with its cycles of feelings. NEAT.. Well let's see what happens next. Talk to you soon Rox!!!! Chiou Bella Liz
