If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Today was the worst day in ages pain-wise. It was also one of the coldest days so far this winter. I know this has been asked before...but just curious here... How many of you find the pain considerably worse in the colder months? And for that matter...how about the summer months? Anyone? Anyone? Cold weather for me. *limp* *cringe* sigh* whine* Cheers, Steph

Hi Steph Eric says winters are worse for him. When he woke up this morning he was "a little stiff, but I was on the go all day long, so I feel good now". On the go meaning, playing in the snow, snow ball fights, snow football, etc....then his mean old mom made him shovel. Then do it again because he did a crappy job the first time...... Now he is all showered, and sitting on the floor behind me playing X box....sitting cross legged on the floor that is..... Hugs, and I hope that you feel better soon..... Lori

Hey Steph, Sorry to hear you're having a bit of a bad time...... To answer your question tho, I've noticed rain bothering more than cold but damp cold is the worst. Once the temps have dropped and it's dry for awhile, I'm ok. The cold rain is a killer for me hugs, linda

MEEE! I have the majority of swelling during the summer.....I have the PAIN during the winter. Damp and cold is the worst. Also when the weather changes as Towman suggested is bad. But strangely, during something like a blizzard or a thunderstorm i feel my best. SO....it either has to be horribly severe weather, OR very good and stable weather to have me at my best. No inbetweens for me!! Rox http://www.geocities.com/artisan1998.geo/index.html

Definatly worse in the wet/cold. Where are all those who live in perpetually warm, dry weather?? I wonder if they have it as bad?? Sorry to hear that you're flaring...no fun for sure!! Hope you feel better soon! Laura

A difficult question for anyone living in beautiful British Columbia Steph.
I don't have any typical AS type of pain anymore but I do have lots of nerve pain in the back and legs and it is definately worse in the winter cold. If I stay outside too long, the nerves go crazy and right away, my leg muscles start to cramp up and my foot becomes useless.

Warm weather ASer here,
Grew up in Wisconsin, but have lived in Ohio, Florida and now Arizona. I did so well with my medications for so long it was hard for me to tell in Wisconsin/Ohio.... but would notice flares definitely with stress. But if I had unexplained problems it was typically in Spring or Fall time frame..... could never get to a reliable predictor that change in seasons was the cause although since did not happen each and every year.
My father back in Wisconsin strongly believes changes influence his AS.
Now that I am off the meds for the time being do to liver and follow the NSD/LSD, I experience more pain. Arizona is fairly even keel in comparison to most states.... but the past week and half is the most pain I have been in for several years and no explanation other than finally had a big drop in the weather (only one day did it rain lightly). No stress at work currently, no excessive physical activity.... and actually AS is in the ribcage which is a first for me.
I am convinced stress is big player... weather maybe, I need more history (actually I do not want more history), but difficult for me to guage currently.
Take care,
Tim

Changes in pressure do it for me. The worst was a tornado in Kansas when I was teaching there -- so much pain for a few hours. And yesterday something came through here (with SNOW!) and aboutkilled me. Where do we go to live without "weather?" Patty Left, "teacher." Above, with daughter (Chris) in Mexico, a month before AS kicked my butt! My cat's web page: http://www.pet-parade.com/petpages2/page.asp?id=351
