If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I met with my rheumy last week. I have mentioned in previous posts that the remicade was no longer working. She wrote a script for humira. Right now we are in the "fighting" phase with our insurance company to cover it, though it is much cheaper than remicade. Anyways, now to the snap crackle and pop. I have been having crunching feelings and sounds in my neck and jaw. This is new for me, and wondered what it was. I mentioned it to her and she said that was definitely a sign of fusing. She said fusing is the hardening of the tissues into bone(we all knew that), and the crunching sound is exactly that. Each time you move your vertebrae you hear that new bony growth crunching. Very strange but makes sense. She ordered a complete set of spinal x-rays. I haven't had spinal x-rays in years so I am interested in knowing what they look like. So here's to all of those crunching sounds!!!! Simone

Well, hell, if that's the case, my neck has been fusing for most of my life!! I've had snap crackle AND pop living in my neck for as long as I can remember. Now I'm definitely going to get my family doctor to order some neck xrays when I see her next week. Hugs, Kat

Simone, I have had the same sounds in my left hip for quite a while now. It really does sounds like rice crispies at times. Mine seems to sounds worst when I got a bad flare. I wanted to let you know that I am starting on Humira this week. My rheumy says that I need to add a second DMARD. I have been on Arava for two months now and it has helped some , but I still am getting quite a bit of inflammation in my hips. Hope you win the battle with the insurance company! Take Care ! Kevin

Kevin Do you actually have humira in your possesion? I am going to the drug store tomorrow to drop off the script and I was wondering if they would even have the drug, and if not how long it would take. Do you know how much it is without insurance? I heard $1000.00 a dose. Does that sound right?? Good luck with it. I would love to hear how fast it works. The remicade worked right a way for me. Simone

Hi Simone,
A year or so ago, we had a thread about these noises we all make and it was proposed that we form a very unusual band. Who knows, it could be very popular if we get good enough to play a few tunes.
Re the noises though, I've always liked to say that it is the sound of fusing being delayed.

Hi Simone,
You have such a beautiful family! I'm so glad you put in the pic. My hips and back do alot cracking and poping. Never used to years ago. I'm now going to talk to my dr. about this. This all seems a bit new to me still. Haven't been back to my dr. since my ex-rays.
Thanks, Wendy
Wendy

George, I LOVE this idea! I have a loud pop (but pretty painful, unfortunately) in my left hip -- would make a great bass beat. Other noises: if I rub my right eye, it squeaks really loud (can a band use a squeaky sound?); ankle pops/clicks when I rotate it; knees make that tearing sound when I squat and then stand back up. I'm SURE nothing unusual, or that anyone else doesn't have (except maybe the eye! I would rub my eyes at night before falling asleep, and my husband would say, "What in the HE-- is that squeaking noise?!?!?" "Just me -- that eye that fell out but they stuck back in, remember?"). What have you got for noises? Patty 2001

Just wanted to say beautiful family pic Simone !!! Glad you posted it. As for snap crackle and pop.....been doing that since I was a little one. I remember when I met Art about 11 years ago, he said "Honey that sounds really bad....you probably have arthritis or will have problems with your knees later" I laughed my little "buggy" head off. Sure I had wobbly knees that would swell on and off..but arthritis?? My back pops loudly, but I always thought it was better than if it didnt. My back used to pop and feel good when I'd wake in the mornings...nowadays it is so stiff. Hips pop too and jaw. My dentist said thats from the TMJ. Therapist in PT said it's from the neck inflammation. hugs]] Buggy
