Using a Macintosh does not preclude one from viewing this file - the absence of Micro$oft Word installed however will always prevent you from opening a .doc file - regardless of operating system or platform.

I was able to open and view - although like Loz I have not yet read the document - the file using a Powerbook, OS 10.2.4 with OfficeX installed.

I would also like to comment that I was made nervous when the "attachment" was not the typical image type that remains in the browser but rather initiated an immediate download to my hard drive. I'm very suspicious of "unknown" files, especially those generated through the Microsoft suite of applications with names like "1-105811-X=Everything.doc"... What's the "X=Everything" stand for? - I asked myself prior to opening... Is this going to try to erase my hard drive? Being on a Mac, I'm thankfully untouched by the diabolical viruses authored to attack PC's... But one never knows. Well, you get the idea.

We live in a dangerous world.

“One final paragraph of advice: do not burn yourself out. Be as I am a reluctant enthusiast…a part time crusader, a halfhearted fanatic. Save the other half of yourselves and your lives for pleasure and adventure. It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it… while you can. While it is still there. – Edward Abbey
