Just wanted to say hi and welcome to KA!
I was on methotrexate for about a nanno second -- well, a few weeks actually - - and had an awful time with it, bombed off quite quickly. It does work for a lot of people but to me it seems a crude version of the disease modifiers that are available now, sort of scatter shot approach. I don't have Chron's but do have both RA and AS. I'm on another type of new disease modifier, Arava, a teensy pill every morning and I'm good to go, been in remission for 18 months with no side effects - - other than the first month when I had some tummy trouble, so went from a cane to living a more or less normal life. I'm only fused in the SIs - - women do seem to fuse later than men - - but have a lot of mechanical damage in my spine due to all those years of inflammation, so sometimes if I do a lot of physical stuff I still get back spasms.
I'm not sure how fast Remicade is supposed to kick in so can't answer that question but I'm sure others here will offer some advice.
