There are times where I have eaten the wrong food and would feel a tiny stab in my eye. But that would always go away quickly after taking extra Rutin. I am a bit worried that your ophthamologists dont appear to have treated or diagnosed your eye pains (have they??). Perhaps you should find a more informed opthamologist , and make sure he knows you have AS. Iritis is associated with AS ... in fact it was an opthamologist who first suspected I had AS !

The last time I went to an opthamologist they did "slit lamp tests" to check how much debri and gunk (immune cells) were floating around my eye.. an indication of inflammation. They also checked how much pressure was in my eye... bit like tyres hehee...

The last serious iritis flair was over a year ago.. It started with the usual stabbing pains. And when it got really bad my eye started to ache. My iris became stuck in a kind of cramp, and wouldn't move as the light changed .. ie: my pupil wouldn't dilate. Also when I looked at bright lights they had a big halo around them - ithink that was due to all the inflammatory gunk in my eye.

z
