Frightening indeed Simone!
I had that happen to me first about 4 years ago. I awoke and my arm swang around like crazy. I literally screamed b/c I had NO control over it. Art came rushing over and after about 5 minutes it slowly came back around..the feeling. It was terrible!
Since then it's happend a few times. I dont know if it was from the herniated and bulging discs in my back or my neck causing it. During that time I had some very un-nerving [no pun intended] pain on my scalp. I was so frightened b/c it felt like little shocks on my scalp. I though my God ..either a nervous breakdown..or who knows! lol
What's worse is when I had my brain mri two years ago...then my neurologist at the time thought my dark spots were mini strokes b/c it was not normal to have these on a 33 yr old female.
I wish I had an answer for you. I'm assuming AS is the culprit. During that period I was starting to have more and more mini flares that I thought were spasms from a bad back. A bad back that I had never actually injured. I never had an inklin' it could be arthritis creeping up on me.
I do hope it goes away soon. I have had to learn to rotate often in bed so that the circulation doesnt scare the bajeebies out of me.
My grandpa has what I believe is vasculitis so I am always a bit nervous about the possibility. Take care and let your doc know just in case....
