Fentanyl Patches is a patch that releases the actual narcotic "Fentanyl" through the skin and into the bloodstream. Lidoderm patches, aka: Lidocaine patches, only numbs the outside of the skin. They do not penetrate and get into the bloodstream. They are two completely different patches and medications. Since Fentanyl is a narcotic, you can overdose on it if using more than one patch at a time, unless otherwise prescribed. With Lidocaine patches....you can slap them all over your skin and not overdose! LOLOL. Seriously though? They're very, very expensive and will not help with deep-rooted pain as in AS.
