I think that we should just get a motorhome, that way we can just drive it North for a storm and come back when it's over....

The ironic part about the demolition is that the Army Corps of Engineers is in charge of the demolition work...the same agency that is in charge of the levee system...after they demo your property, they bill you and then you file for reimbursement with your insurance company, they use the records from the parish clerk of court to verify ownership and to file a Right of Entry but last time, they demolished the wrong house, I had three properties listed in my name, two rental properties and our house and I had just owner financed one of the houses to a family and they tore down that one instead of our home and billed me for the work and they never came back, so I had to hire a contractor to come in and demo the house and wound up having to pay out of pocket and then found out that there was no legal recourse against a government agency under the goodwill act(or something like that) and it was just a huge mess and they don't give you a choice in the matter, the Army Corps of Engineers gets the contract and that's that.....this ought to be fun!
