Hey all, I realized a moment ago that I haven't responded to all of you. I am sorry. As you know it's stupid busy at work, and my time on the weekend was ... well ... non-existant.
Saturday was errands - stuff for the show - stuff for home. Got caught in a flash storm, mighty high winds and driving rain, while running our errands. On the motorcycle. Did you know that raindrops HURT when they hit your cheek at high speed???

Sunday, I was at the theatre from 10:30am to 9:30pm. We ran lines, did the cue-to-cue (a rehearsal where all you work on are the technical cues - lighting and sound), participated in the 'producer's luncheon', then did our first tech run of the show (when you do the whole show, but the focus is on the technical cues, making sure it all works right).
I was toast yesterday. Got up. Came to work. So exhausted that I was tingly under my skin. Dragged my sorry a$$ home, found food, was at the theatre by 6:15 for our tech/dress rehearsal (when you wear the costumes and do hair for the first time). We women also decided to start working with our make-up as well last night. Talk about chaos!!!! Do you have any idea how hard finger waves and 1930 eyebrows are???!!!

So here's the normally calm and cool Kat (and backstage I generally am pretty darned calm and cool), sitting at the dressing table, frantic over freaking eyebrows!! Then it was the horrendous circles under my eyes and the fact that no matter what I did to hide them ... they just got WORSE!!!! AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!
I flubbed lines terribly - twisted them up to the point that as I was saying them my brain was screaming, "Where the hell did THAT come from??!!" Walked into the two new chairs that have been added to the set. I knew they were going to be there, but these are bigger than the two we've been using. And only one has been glow taped (so we know where they are in the blackout and don't walk into them) so I knee-capped myself on one of them ... TWICE!
I totally missed one cue and the next thing I know I'm being dragged backstage from the dressing room. "They've already given the cue," my co-actor says in a panic. "WHAT???!!!" shriek I in a whisper. "They've already given the cue!!!!!!!!!" he says again. "[**BLEEP**]!!!!" And on we go. On stage, they've been improvising and somehow got talking about the hedgehog we keep joking lives in the 'garden'. I knew that dratted hedgehog would make an 'appearance' one day.
Anyway, tonight is full dress rehearsal. I'll let you know how it goes.
I must fly. It's lunchtime and I'm HUNGRY!!!
Love and hugs,
