Quick update again. Floods peaked about 1m lower than the 74 floods. Still well over 30 000 homes affected in Brisbane and Ipswich areas alone. Other towns in the south and western part of the state are now getting terrible flooding as waters move down that way. 15 now confirmed dead but still over 60 missing. Hopefully people will stay safe in the areas the flood waters are now reaching.
Our beautiful Bribie beach is now brown and full of debris. Spoke to a hydrologist at the beach today and he said the waters were 50% fresh water. This is the ocean we are talking about. Not sure if this will affect the oceans salt water fish/environment.
Cyclone in the coral sea is of some worry but not effecting us for now. They expect it to maybe become a problem in a week or so and may come down this way wich is what caused the 74 floods. So please pray it does not head this way.
Sorry I have not updated sooner but my little one has been very unwell. ad to take her to the hospital tonight as her temp was over 40 and wouldnt come down despite medication. She is home now but temp back over 40 an hour and a half ago. Has only come down to 39.6 with medication. Have spoken to a health nurse and if her temp doesnt come down further in the next hour or if it goes back up I have to take her back to the hospital.
I was meant to go and help with the cleanup tomorrow but with miss 5 so sick I dont think I will be able to unless she drematicaly improves overnight.
