Hope you don't suffer too much. I cheat too, but am only on a low starch diet, so its not always quite so noticeable immediately for me.

I guess I would have cheated somewhat at the party - not to the full extent of having the whole piece of cake, but to having a goodly chunk of the frosting. In that kind of circumstance for me its easier being on a gluten free diet already, but I'd also have made sure there were things that I could have eaten safely that had the celebratory party feel to them. That jelly with coolwhip option sounds good to me, as to meringues (egg white and sugar) and surprisingly quite a few other party options.

Maybe start planning for the second birthday a bit earlier if you are still on the NSD?
