Today I DO know why a lot of folks here up North (well, Holland is up North too, don't just count the Scandinavians in ;-) have 'developed' the HLA B27 gene:

It's raining, it's POURING and today EVERYONE on the sidewalk walks exactly like me on a bad day: bad posture, head slightly forward..... it keeps the cold wind away from your face and neck, keeps the rain away from your face!.

Today it really seems like EVERYONE in this country has AS, it's just the way people NATURALLY walk in a rainstorm. And God knows it rains a lot in Holland! Over the years we may have developed a natural tendency to walk like this, AS is definitely an advantage as I walk a lot faster like that way than the other guys do! I wonder if the HLA B27 gene is prevalent in a rainy climate like Seattle/Pacific Northwest as well?

Haha

Just my two (rainy) cents
