Probably too late now, but if anyone ever gets this kind of pain and goes off to an emergency optho appointment, make sure you assertively tell them you have autoimmune disease problems, so they take it seriously and as urgently as it needs to be, and get you in as an urgent case, even if you think you could hold out a bit longer.
