Hi Everyone,
Thought I would jump in here.
Couple things:
For Chris, avocados were discussed at some length a while ago. I seem to recall that you can have them if they are RIPE. They have a tiny amount of starch but not very much.
The Coffee Dillema. My alternative Dr told me I had to give it up. I did for about 2 months until things calmed down, because I liked the "gooey" stuff added and I was sensitive to dairy & sugar. I can now tolerate an occasional cup of coffee without the dairy, but with the sugar. So that is an indulgence for me again! I believe that more than the caffeine being the problem, coffee is a dieretic (sp? Make you go potty! ) and it is an irritant to our already inflammed intestinal tract. It PUSHES the undigested food through too quickly so the Klebs have a FEAST. What has everyone else heard?
As to Doug & Amanda, my biggest suggestion is start on one meal. I started out of desperation because I was afraid of ending up like my brother so I just did it, but you can go gradually. Sooner or later you just have to do it though.
I would start having a great big salad with some meat. I love taco salad, no chips!! I also love grilled chicken caesar salads. YUM!
As earlier suggested, you are the only one to say what your body can and can't handle and believe me you will get so good at reading the signals you will know within a very short time if you shouldn't have dairy/sugar/starch.
Good Luck,
Janet
