YIKES! I just took my first shot of Enbrel on Wednesday and today is Friday. My next shot is scheduled for tomorrow Saturday. I have had a sore throat for 2 days, and today I had diarrhea thismorning, and my stomach has been way off all day.
Did any of you Enbrel users have any side effects at first???

Please help and advise, I am thinking about postponing the second shot.....

 Thanks in advance!

 Ellyn

Hi Ellyn I dont know if you are a teeny person, or a bigger person, but Eric (who is teeny) kept getting sore throats at first. The doctor cut his shot down to 1/2 shot 2X a week. Maybe you are getting too much for your system also. Cant hurt asking the question. Also, they always told me that if Eric had any type of illness to skip the shot. Good luck, and give me a holler if you have any questions that I might be able to answer. Hopefully you will be able to overcome this pretty quick, and you will have the wonderful results that Eric has with it. Hugs Lori

Ellyn, I take mine Monday's and Friday's. I didn't have any side effects that you are experiencing. I hope yours are cause by something else vs Enbrel. It might be your nerves or stress. I hope you get better. You will feel alot better in couple of weeks. Maybe sooner. Good Luck...don't forget to give your doctor's nurse a call and explain your concerns. Dan I'm a little pain on the "AS"..

Hi Lori!
THANKS! Yeah, I am not so big, so maybe that is why! The doc said to go ahead with my second shot, but I think I am going to wait another day to see.

Thanks a lot for responding so quick, I appreciate it a lot!

 I will keep you posted!

 Ellyn

You're still a lot teenier than some of us on Enbrel. I'm a "woman of substance" and the normal dose is more than enough for me. You may need a smaller dose or more days between doses. Or take a while longer to build up to full dose. I still have off and on episodes of diarhea. Doesn't matter what I eat or don't eat. I don't think the Enbrel is to blame, because I had that problem before starting Enbrel. I also heard that where you live affects the chances of coming down with TB. (includes Mississippi and Ohio River Valleys, and other polluted areas) Your doctor may want to check that out. Good luck with the Enbrel. It has been my ticket to life, and why I don't live here at KickAS all the time like I used to. Hugs, Cindy Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.
 Hugs,

 Cindy

Hi Ellyn,
I've been on Enbrel for almost 7 months without much problems, but had tonsillitis twice earlier this year. Haven't had any in 4 months - thank god! While being on Remicade, I had 8 bouts of tonsillitis in 7 months, even though we temporarily stopped Remicade for several months since I couldn't recieve Remicade until they had cleared up.

Anyway, I haven't had any problems or side effects from Enbrel aside from the tonsillitis. Hopefully you won't either!

 Nina
