If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I am here to help too! Hope that the stress of this will not make you flare!
Enbrel update: Yesterdy was week 2, shot 5, and I am dissappointed in the Enbrel. Although my side effects are at bay, I still have a great deal of pain and morning stiffness. I was hoping for better relief come two weeks time. I am going to try to hang in there. I don't want to add an NSAID to the picture, then I won't be able to monitor the Enbrel alone. Wish that I had the results that you did. If we lived closer, I would keep my script and just give it to you!
Regards!
Ellyn

Just had my third shot and am still feeling great. So far no side effects and no pain. I have been reading about the cost of enbrel in the US, i think it is disgusting that you have to pay out such amounts of money to get a drug that is of such benefit. I know the drug is expensive to manufacture, but that should not matter. Over here in the UK it is free of charge and delivered to your home, with no charge. I cannot imagine being in so much pain and having to worry about whether i can afford a life changing drug or not. Does your government not make any provisions for people in special circumstances. I look forward to hearing your replies. Good luck to you all, bye for now Paul.

Hi there,
I've been taking Enbrel for one month now and (knock on wood) I have not had any side effects. I don't know where you're located, but there was a nasty sore throat bug going around Massachusetts at the end of June this year. Hopefully it's just a coincidence. I'm getting so much relef from the Enbrel that I'd almost be willing to say that I'd endure a sore throat every day for the rest of my life if I had the choice between that and Enbrel. The stuff is working really well for me. Good luck and keep us posted on your results!

HI Max thanks for your well wishes. I have been on the Enbrel for 2 weeks, 2 days. I am sad to say that last night the pain was so bad, I took naprosyn, and went in the pool, as opposes to jumping off the roof. I couldn't take the pain. Called my new rheumy and told her that Enbrel so far has not given me any pain relief. She called me back from her home and we talked. She was great. She put me on an 8 day prednisone taper to take the edge off and hopefully Enbrel will kick in in another two weeks. Thanks for listening!

Ellyn, I am sooo sorry you were in pain!! I still think we have to give it a little more time. Also, is it time for your "friend"? I hurt more then!!! I am glad your rheumy actually called. That had to make you feel somewhat better!! If you need anything...you know I am here!! Holly

It is possible to still have flares while on Enbrel. I almost quit several months ago. The pain was awful, but then I had to put everything into perspective. Enbrel is not a cure. That flare settled down and so did I. I'm now in another flare, and I know that's just what it is. The biggest relief I got from Enbrel was getting rid of the morning stiffness. That still is true, even tho I'm flaring. I'm feeling lousy, so probably none of this even makes sense. Anyway, I hope you hang in there. There are a few people for which Enbrel does not work at all, so that could possibly be the case. Blood tests would tell. If your sed rate and/or CRP are dropping, Enbrel is probably doing its thing. Good luck and I hope tomorrow is the most wonderful day you ever had. Hugs, Cindy I am only one; but still I am one. I cannot do everything. But still I can do something; I will not refuse to do the something I can do. Helen Keller
Hugs,

Thanks, Holly. No, it is not that time, but something to look out for. The prednisone is working its wonders, I might go build an addition on my house with all this energy! :-)
The Rheumy hopes that 8 days of prednisone will give me 2 weeks of relief and then the Enbrel will have more time to kick in.
How are you doing??
THANKS!
Ellyn
