If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi everyone,
Im not exactly thrilled about this but my Rheumy did look at my blood test results from last May and he said I do have a confirmed case of Lupus. He was pretty mad that my regular MD failed to tell me that I was B-27 positive and was positive for Lupus. But i just got started on Plaquinel and Im very worried about it and from what ive heard about it, I dont want my eyes to screw up at 15!! But Im having a really bad flare up of both right now I had a bad day at school with it today. I hate it cause its like everything gets to me if im in pain and then i become a mean person to my friends and dont wanna talk and they havent really gotten that yet but i hate to be that way!! But I hate to put a nevative vibe here but im just kinda lost in my opinion things couldnt get worse for me right now. But I do have some good news I am starting to focus more in class even if I am tierd, im kinda making myself and my grades are goin' up so I can at least smile about one thing!
thanks for all your support wouldnt be here if it wasnt for yall and having someone to talk to, so thanks to you all you guys n gals mean so much to me ( man i feel a tear comin on!) Love yall, Korye Danielle

Know what you are going through, diagnosed with Lupus years back, Came out of the blue as I was going through a bad flare then the doctor said oh and by the way did I tell you that you have lupus as well. Hang in there as there is still life to be enjoyed. Rat

Hang in there, Korye.
I know how hard it must be to stay focussed when you feel like that. It'll all be worth it, for sure. And keep your friends cool, mine are godsend...

Korye, You are such a strong young woman and you already have so many obstacles to overcome that many young girls your age do not have. I believe you can deal with anything! My thoughts are with you ....you stay strong. We are all here behind you no matter what ...O.K Hugs Sal

Korye, I was on Plaquenil for 4 years. I had to have a field of vision test every six months to check that it wasn't affecting my sight. The only reason I'm not on it now is that I am trying to start a family. I had no side effects from it - my eyesight was still fine. I know some people react to Plaquenil and some get no effect or help from it at all. The only way you are going to know if it helps you or not is to try it. And make sure you get the regular eye checks. And if you feel it is doing nothing for you tell your doctor so they can find something else for you.
Regards, Elaine

HEy Korye. My sophomore year of hhigh school, for the first half of the year I was tip honors student. THen came the flare from hell. It was all I could do to concentrate and not be grouchy or unfocused just to pass by the skin of my teeth. THe good news is that as I went along that year into the next I got used to the fatigue and pain so that I started being "me" again. THAt was over25 years ago and I had lousy advice and lousier med's. SO I guess I'm just telling you their is hope and your body will adjust as you are starting to see. Good luck.     stevec-they also serve who stand and wait

Hi Korye, Sorry to hear about having to add lupus into your situation. You are one strong young girl to be dealing with all this. Glad to hear your grades are going up. In the long run that is very important to your future. I know it is tough to concentrate when in pain but as Steve says hopefully you will adapt to it. ( What a thing to have to adapt to) It is hard for sure with friends because you are not the same as you once were and that is a whole other adaption process I think I am still adjusting to myself. Hang in there Korye. I am rooting for you. Keep posting and letting us know how you are doing. Deborah There is no drug stronger than a good attitude.

Dearest Korye - I feel for you. Being fifteen is enough of a challenge without having to deal without all the physical challenges you are having. Your grades are important so if you can keep them up and focus on your school work your life will be so much easier. You will be able to get into a good college and eventually be able to pursue a career doing something that you want to do. And you will be able to use your excellent mind and not have to worry about any tricks your body will play on you. Because I am a teacher I see kids everyday that don't care about school and don't realize how absolutely important it is. Hang in there! Helen

Hi Korye, Hi, I am new to the group. I am 23 I was diagnosed on June 18 2003...the day after my b-day. What a nice birthday present. I had no pain at all in highschool. I was very active with sports and stuff. But then one day BAM like a ton of bricks hit me...Sorry to hear about adding lupus in on top of everything. In your profile I noriced that you are on a whole bunch of different meds...how is that working. Are any of them bringing you any relief? Looking forward to reading more about everyone and catching up on everything. <3 Jamie
