At 12:20 AM Central Standard Time this morning, December 7, 2003, my mother, Jeanette, lost her battle with cancer. I can take solice in the fact that she is no longer in pain and that, at least for cancer, her battle was not as prolonged as it might have been.

She was the guiding light of my life, my hero and my best friend and the depth of my sorrow knows no bounds. But this is not about me. It is about letting you, her KickAS friends know the news.

She loved you all: the ones she had met, the ones I had only told her about, and even the ones who's names she had never even heard. She loved you because you were my friends and you were always here for me when I needed support. That was the depth of her love for me and gives you just a slight glimpse at the sadness within my heart.

I am typing this on a very kind friend's computer and will obviously not be at work for a good while. I tell you this, because it will probably be 2004 before you hear from me again.

I'm PMing both Lori (Sassy) and Michelle with the details of mother's funeral arrangements, if anyone should wish to know. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM CST. Please say a prayer for me, my family, and most importantly my Mom, if you think about it, at this time.

I love you all dearly,
Johnny

Johnny,
I am so so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. A mother's love is like no other and I hope that you will find solace in knowing that she will be watching over you now and that she is indeed without pain right now.

Please know that I am here for you as well as all of your friends here. Although I did not have the pleasure of meeting her, I heard nothing but wonderful things about her from you and so many members here.

I offer my condolences from my family...
take care and my prayers are with you and your family...

Dear Johnny,

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Your mother was a wonderful woman with a great sense of humor and strength. I am relieved she is no longer suffering and is now in a better place. I know it will take you a long time to grieve this tremendous loss but please know I care and if you need anything at all just let me know. I hope you can take some comfort in knowing what a great son you were to her. The love and special bond you two shared will live on for eternity.

My prayers go out to you both.
Kathy
