I have a game planned for tomorrow, Thurday 22nd !!!!!!!!!!

I'm way out of shape, and haven't played for what feels like forever (OK, about 6 weeks ) and I'm not expecting much - but just to swing at the little white ball on a golf course rather than on the practice range is all I wanted.. .. .. .. ..

I'll post my score after the game (maybe )

Incidentally Steve, I tried restricting my backswing as you suggested after work yesterday. It resulted in me repeatedly missing the ball altogether! I went back to my old ways, and got on quite well, mostly long and straight. Maybe I'll settle for that.

You're just supposed to restrict your backswing by FEEL. If you're missing the ball then your watchin' how far your hands are going back. Even with AS like mine it is virtually impossible to miss the ball if youare watching it.
Stop when you feel like your hands are hip high.


Anyway enjoy the round. I'm hopin to sneak out solo Sat morning and get a round of some sort in before it become too cold for these achy bones to swing.

If it wasnt my birthday and I wasnt in such a good mood, I would tattle-tale on you in the Women's Forum without a second thought! For God's Sake man, you saw what we did to nice, innocent, wise Ol'George!!! Imagine what we would do a wise-cracking smart ... er .. alex like yourself!!!

Right, golf then. Much too cold to play here if your thinking it might be getting too cold to play in NY. I couldnt remember a score to save my life, but on those really nice little 3-par 9-hole course I went to a couple of times summer, I was very proud of myself when I actually hit the ball. Moreover, after a couple of games (really, only about 3) I was EXTREMELY proud when I actually teed off and landed on the green. High 30's/Low 40's is what I'm thinking. Just wait until I get serious about it though ...

Ahhh, Jeanna the one joy all men take in life whether right or wrong is exercising their inalienable right to feign infinite sports knowledge and to profess pedantically all the things that other men (coaches and managers) who are paid enormous sums did incorrectly. There is no place in such infantile pleasure for female opinion.

Women would surely convolute any debate of sports with unimportant details like facts and real statistics. We prefer bogus statistics unsupported opinions and as last resort personal insults of those who argue against our sports wisdom.

HOw about name that 17th century plague??? Nope still too unnerving . How about name your favorite attorney. He's cute , blue eyed and has a bent ofr his profesion as he wanders the streets of nYC. Sorry if my game show allusions are too early. TOo much time too many game shows.

I didn't want to post my score, if you can even call it a score, but I had the good fortune to talk to my very best friend about the disaterous time I had and the suggestion made was to post the best 9 holes, and make like I only played those 9

I'll always be honest here (unless I'm making a joke about someone being in peerage) so I'll tell you that I did indeed play 18, nevertheless I'm going to take that sage advice and tell you I hit 44 for nine of the holes, those holes having a collective par of 35. I extrapolate that to playing as an 18 handicaper at my very best that day. My worst is simply unpostable. I lost so many balls out of bounds it's eye-watering.
You want my excuses? Well, there was a wind so strong you couldn't wear a regular golf hat because it would simply have blown away, and the ground was wet, and I over-medicated, and I was still in considerable discomfort on the back nine, I have a cold, and AS, and my game - frankly speaking - stinks! Oh yes, and that Bruce and Demi split-up is still toubling me even now.....

I didn't swing the same swing twice all afternoon, and that's my problem. I need to find a basic swing that I'm happy with and tweak from there. At the moment I seem to change everyhing everytime to see what'll happen. Back to the drawing board.......
