If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

just yesterday i noticed my ankles were swollen. We have had a few days of really hot weather (85) but other then that, nothing has changed in my routine or my drugs. Anyone have any ideas what this could be? thankfully i have an appt with my RD next week so if it doesnt go awa by then i can ask him, should i be concerned?

My husband has had this problem and it was due to too much of a certain anti-inlamitory type drug--I think celebrex? Can't remember. Didn't show up for a month, but when it did his ankles were awful! Could need a change in meds. Good luck!

If one ankle were swollen I'd look to AS as the culprit, it usually affects peripheral joints asymetrically (RA affects joings symetrically). Sounds like water retention. Meds can cause this. Also check your BP, could be a relationship there too. You could try an over the counter diuretic (Pamprin is one) and see if that helps, so long as you check the label for any adverse drug interactions with, say, an NSAID that you're on. HI Tela, It could be just typical AS stuff...inflammation causing the swelling. I get sweeling quite often and it can happen in any part of my feet, but the ankles are where it happens most often. However, ankle swelling can be a sign of other things that could be going on, which is why it's best you bring it up to your doc. Thyroid problems can cause it along with kidney issues etc... While you're waiting to see you doc, try using ice on it to bring down the swelling and try staying away from anything you think would make it worse. Hugs, Lisa
