Well, having had my first serious bacterial infection ever, I think I will have to withdraw my previous statement about being nonchalant about infection.

Still, obsessiveness is not necessary. Treating small cuts with antibiotic cream (three times daily until significantly healed) is probably advised, though.

Hi I take 2 ,25s a week havnt tried the once a week dose ..Got a letter from embrel saying that the shots will come in a once a week dose and allready mixed ...just inject..Think that will start soon.Still hoping the embrel does more for me :o( Steve

From one athlete to another...DON"T DO THE 50mg thing! It totally backfired on me. It might be a low bodyfat thing. You look like a mean machine, so take it from somone who tried, and it crashed on me! DON'T TRY IT!


I am back on 25 mg 2 x a week, and back on track! I have to post a picture for you!

I have been on Enbrel since it became available, and I noticed that I was getting mild headaches and pressure on my eyes. I had to goes off the shots because I had a bad case of bronchitis. I was off the shots for about 2 months and didn't experience headaches or eye problems. I am back on the shots and I am starting to get mild headaches again and pressure on my eyes. Seems that when I watch TV or work on the computer my eyes hurt. Does anyone else experience the mild headaches and eye problems or is it all in my head?.... thanks.

Hi Dan,
Yes, I am getting headaches as well. Of course the doc's say that it is not associated with Enbrel. They should take it and see! It seems to help my headaches if I stay very well hydrated. I keep the headaches at bay if I drink a gallon of water or more each day. Give it a try and let me know!

I use to be far more active than I am now, but I still workout every day. I ran 11 marathons before AS kicked in. Now I still run and lift weights, but I don't run marathon distances. I will check out your PM and answer your questions.
You look real lean in your picture, I wouldn't go to 50mg a x a week, it was HORRIBLE for me!

I am leaving for Hawaii next week. I will be sure to check out the surfing for you! Last year when I was there I was on the North Shore of O'wahu at the Pipeline...25 - 30 ft waves! Unbelievable!

I usually drink alot of water myself. But I wil try drinking more. Do you get the eye pressure where you can not see say TV or sit on the computer and watch the monitor. I do, it get so bad that I have to go and close my eyes for hours or get some sleep. Ok tks again I will keep you posted.

Hey Ellyn ....Take me with ya to Hawaii !!Most of my friends live there actually on maui ..I usually spend the winter on maui and or in puertorico surfing the biggest there is.I love it.Last season in pr scored a few 25ft plus swells.Its great that you could still run .Allways wanted to try a marathon.The nyc one looks awesome.wish I could to much hip pain ..But im getting better on the nsd so I still have hope...Steve

Hi Dan.I also get the weird eye press headaches on the shots ..I allways was headache sensative but more so the weird eye temple headaches now on the shots...Are you more sensative to bright light more now?I seem to be...Steve
