Hi Chelsea,

Yup, plantar f can be horrible to deal with day upon day. I found the cortisone shots helpful. They aren't fun to get but the pain's pretty fleeting.

I too, enjoyed chatting the other night. Am still feeling quite weird, but that could be pms rather than mtx. Aren't abbreviations lovely little thingys ? I'm dreading my next dose tomorrow. As long as I don't glow in the dark like Aloha Ben does, I'll survive, tho' that toxic feeling ain't any fun.

... and you aren't even at work yet !!!

Hi, funny you should ask this, I had my first one in my right si joint yesterday. The numbing was the worst part...I swear, it feels better already. I can actually walk without a limp today!! The site is a teeny bit sore, but already I am thinking "maybe they should do the other side!"
To Cat...I am back on mtx and think I am feeling a little better, (had two shots). Not as dramatic as last time, but the dose is halved, after all. I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling as well on it. Good luck to you.
Take care all,
Aimee

Hi Chelsea,
I have had cortisone injections in both wrists and it has been fantastic. No pain, tingling, numbness for 3 months. A Rhuemie did my injections and I felt minimal pain.
Maybe your hubby should just try the shots? Best of luck,
Debra.

Aimee,

Keep off the joint, the load bearers should be rested for a week or 2 afterwards.

Hope you get lots of relief!

Hi Aimee,

I was really pleased to know that the mtx seems to be helping - at least you are feeling somewhat better. Had my second dose last night before bed and woke up today okay. Coffee tastes gross though, which puts me in a bad mood. I went out & stomped around in the garden for a bit & felt better. This evening, though, I'm feeling this weird feeling that I hope will go away soon. If it continues, I think I'll ask to get the shots ... don't want to feel like this every week.

How are you doing ? Haven't seen you around here much lately. Hope you're fine !!

I tried the injections once in my SI's. My pain immediately increased to an almost unbearable level and the emotional unheaval was the worst trip of my life. That lasted for about a week. After that I was just sore. Never ever again. I'm sure they may work for others, but wanted to let you know they are not fool-proof. There also is a limit as to how many times a joint can be injected before it leaves you with permanent damage. If the diet is working, you may want to give it a bit more time. Good luck with whatever you do.

Hugs,

Cindy

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your reply - most helpful. There is a podiatrist near my work so I am going to talk to him about the custom made insoles. Sounds good. Jon has recently bought some sports shoes with a high arch and gel pad under the heel and they help him to walk a bit better but still a lot a pain. So we will see how we go anyway,

I hope you manage to get your foot pain under control - NSD does wonders.

All the Best....
Chelsea

Hi, I hope the mtx thing gets better. I am feeling slightly better, waiting to see if my 3rd dose sunday makes a difference. I have been absent, it is been a crazy week, and the temps here have been over 90 degrees since the last week of June, with only one week of 70 dgr weather....whew! Makes one tired, but at least it's a dry heat...when I lived on the east coast and had the humidity...boy! Every one who lives in that kind of heat should get a special medal!! Take care,
Aimee

Aimee,

It's good to see you back - wish that some of that hot weather passed this way. Can't complain though since it's in the mid-20s & has been sunny the past few days. Hopefully, this upcoming week will be less hectic than last.

Am really not sure about this mtx. I guess I need to give it more time but I don't much like the way it's making me feel for the few days after taking it. I like Ben's description of ... stuck inside a mobile ...

What's happening in your garden with the heat ?
