A donation site for Old George. What a lovely idea Sigrid!

Several years ago. our dear Lon offered to give me several of his "pounds" to boost me up to a weight suitable to prevent me from being taken up in a wind storm Now, Dorrit holds my hand during a storm as I have a history of getting "carried away" over all sorts of things.

Anyway, back to your idea. Lon's offer was made in good faith but when the time came and I was getting prepared for the "muscle mass" transfer, we ran into a little problem.

I had given Lon a list of where I wanted these extra pounds taken from. He got a little bit upset when he read the list and sent me a list back which itemized the parts he was willing to give up. And so began a period of negotiation and then criticism as to whether the offered parts still worked.

We almost had a deal but then Lon reneged on some of the parts and I started getting emails saying things like. "what will I be able to do without that?" But hey, that wasn't my problem, Lon was the one who made the offer.

So, I had to go back to just wishing for more weight. Beer is out as I hate the stuff. I have made some slow, but continuous gains after following the advice of John (DragonSlayer) which was to start taking enzymes with my meals.

Lon did mean well by his offer but he is too attached to himself and I am afraid that he would start to spoil in the long trip to Canada by Parcel Post.

A donation site? Sounds good. I'll think of making a list of my priorities but perhaps I should do it in another language, Does your Hubby speak French?

Thanks for making my day.

George

sigrid!

your post reminded me how many of my extra pounds were from oral steroids... AS and Asthma. i think it's been over 6 years since i decided, unless is was life or death, i wouldn't take steroids orally again. maybe this is just life paying me back... who knows???

thanks!

gentle hugs,
teddi

YES! before my dx with AS ..i weighed about 135-140 lbs. then after i got sick and spondy monster has become worse the last 2 yrs it has dropped as low as 108 lbs. right now i've been up to around 112-115 lbs. when i flare it seems my metabolism changes. have you been flaring more than usual lately? as far as gaining it back..i have to work at it. i had family and friends wondering about a year ago if i was crash dieting..um..no...the 3 kid diet...lol

i am glad you enjoy your new loss of weight...

Sorry, my friend, afraid I can't sympathize here. I've misplaced a few pounds here and there before, but always manage to find them again. Don't think I'd go putting out a missing person's report on them even if I did find a few pounds missing. I guess I'd best put my name on the donor list for OldGeorge. Not that he'd be in the market for girly parts, but maybe there are some girlies out there who could use my pounds.
