If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Sadly the Rev. Rebecca Koivu a past member of Kickas board died after a major heart attack at her Church in Michigan. Im sure that all that know her will have their thoughts with Becky's family at this Christmas time. Tony
To all, In case I neglected to include anyone in this list in the original email, please see the below note regarding Rebecca Koivu. There are just so many people near and dear and so many people in her email address book, it was hard to keep everyone straight. I am posting to you all regarding the memorial service information. Most of you are already aware that Becky has passed away. In case I missed someone, please see the notes below the memorial information. My sincerest apologies if I missed you on the first run. Please feel free to pass this around if you know of anyone else who should be informed that I may not be aware of. Thank you all again so much for your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. It means quite a lot to the whole family to know how much Becky was loved. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 2:00pm with reception to follow at 3:00pm at Portage Lake United Church at 1400 East Houghton Ave., Houghton, MI 49931, with the Rev. Victoria Bethel to officiate. Memorials are being accepted by the family of Rebecca Koivu. Sincerely,
Jen Gruhzit, daughter-in-law, on behalf of the whole family
Original message sent December 16
To all,
I know some of you have already heard the news, but I am writing to inform you that Becky did pass away peacefully early this afternoon. Arrangements are still being finalized and I will update you all when I am able. On behalf of the whole family, we thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. You all share in our grief and Becky was loved by many, many people. She has made a positive impact on so many of our lives. I know that we will always carry her memory in our hearts. Peace, The family of Rebecca Koivu Original message sent December 7: (snippet) To all that know and love Becky Koivu. This letter is being sent to inform you all of the current conditions of our mother Becky. On Dec 5th my mother had a major heart attack and she is in critical condition in Keweenaw Memorial Hospital in Laurium, Michigan. She had been at church and collapsed. Church members performed CPR to try to revive her until the EMS arrived. After the EMS made it to the church, they had to use the defibrillator to start her heart. The lack of O2 to her brain has caused some damage that has left my mother unresponsive. The prognosis does not look good.
 My wife, son & me!

That is such sad news and we thank you for telling us.
Becky was a much loved member of our KickAS website. We loved her many stories and her very practical ways of dealing with settleing disagreements.
Becky will never be forgotten by our KickAS members who knew her so well.
Thank you,
OldGeorge

I remember Becky and her hedgies as she called them. Think that was the first fundraiser I remember here to get her a new computer a long time ago.
Was on her sermon list for a while but lost touch when I changed emails a few years back.
Sincere condolences from Maude and I to you and yours.

Wow, thanks for the post, and I'm so sorry to hear the news...I remember Becky, and just went back and read her story....click on the KickAs.org link, and click KickAS Stories, and read "Bec". Wow. What a life battling AS, and other ills, and she fulfilled her dream of being a pastor...that she passed away in church seems right after rereading her story.
Peace, Becky- Linc

Oh dear, that is sad news indeed. One of the first people I "spoke" to when I came to KA. I was so sad when she stopped coming here, and now to learn that she has died....to take a positive from this, I had not thought of Becky in a very long time, and reading this led me to remember back to the time she was a member here and my interactions with her, thereby ensuring that her memory will be kept alive inside me now that she has passed. She was a kind and loving person and she will be missed by all who knew her. My condolences to Becky's family, friends, and congregation.
Brad

I am not family of Becky just a friend whose life she touched, like so many along her path. She was a good friend & support to me when I needed a fellow sufferer to talk to & I did the same for her with her many ills. Now God has called her home to Him. She does not have to suffer any longer!
I think of her two sons and her Daughter in law & the rest of the family who mourn her loss especially at this time of the year.
Tony
