Thanks for caring. That light better start lighting the way out of this darkness. It's been much too long, and I truly need good things happening.

Take Care

Gerri,

Don't let others who can not see any problems or feel the pain you live with get to you. I will send you a pm later this afternoon or this evening. There are a lot of us who go through things like this, as I know I have for the last twenty years with friends, sister and her family, wife, oldest son and now the daugther. My youngest who just turned 20 and lives with me is the only one I can rely on and knows the problems are real.

Gerri, First of all....I am so sorry! Secondly, when I first read your post, I was thinking that maybe Chris was in denial because he's afraid of losing his beloved Mother but no-one knows him like you. But as all of us know that for some strange reason, the holidays bring out the worst in some people....maybe the stress? Thirdly...I am so sorry!
That is a tough one and I know it stings. I know I'm newly dxed and I expected my mother (who has SLE) and my sisters (who both have MS) to totally understand what I deal with but all I ever get is ohhh I know, tell me about it! So now, I tell my KA family. Good luck with this, I pray that Chris doesn't have to ever deal with AS first hand. Happy Holidays!!

Michelle, thanks for being there for me.

Both my sons (Chris and Jason) are both showing signs of AS. They started showing signs when they were 16. I am HLA B27 +. They are showing many signs of many of my health issues, even down to my allergies. Which means no medication, for pain, and depression.

I am thinking my upcoming liver biopsy on the 2nd, is playing a major roll in his outburst. I think both my boys, and 15 year step-son, are all very scared that I am dying on them. They just as afraid of the diagnoses of the liver biopsy as I am. My doctor doesn't think it's cancer, she said my liver enzymes would have gotten lot worse before now, they are just steady higher than normal. Dr. thinks, possible NASH, or some other auto-immune diease. I won't find out until the 30th when I get my results.

Chris has apologized profusely, but I am not over the tears.

Hugs

Gerri....no thanks necessary...you were brave enough to address the most sensitive of subjects, something that obviously all of us, at some time or another have faced or will face,....insensitive comments from the ones that we have loved, protected, defended & would gladly lay down our own lives for, if ever called upon to do so....our family members!! My hope is that we will gain some insight to this subject because deep down inside, our rational minds remind us that some day everyone looks back and remembers things that they've done or said and they wish with all their heart they could take it back and unfortunately...by the time they realize it, it's usually too late and then here comes the guilt...what a heavy burden.....if we could just come up with a way to say....."Hey, you're in the wrong but I forgive you!!".....I know that I worry about the future impact of guilt on my oldest child and only son for some of his shenanigans (sp?) but I truly don't want to look down...or up!!??? ...from the afterlife and see him wasting energy that could be spent on my grandchildren......self-loathing!!! Take Care and You're in my prayers!!

Hey Gerri,

Somehow I figured an apology would come. You can't raise kids the right way and have them turn out 180 degrees different. It was just a little bump in the road. Looks like you will have a "most lovely Christmas Present" after all, but just a little late.

Gerri,

I am so glad Chris apologized. Like others have said, the holiday season can bring out the beast in some.
I hope the biopsy comes out with good results.
I wish you and your family all the best.
