If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi everyone,
I am not sure if I need it yet, but when I do - what would I need to do to obtain a handicap parking sticker for the car? Any suggestions? Thanks again,
MB

You get a paper from the Department of Motor Vehicles, take it to your Dr. and see if he/she will sign it. Usually it will be for like 2 years at a time. Mine now is 4 years but now that I have disability my next one should be permanent.
Good luck!
Lisa

Lisa,
Thank you so much, I have an appointment with my rheumy next week, I'll go to motor vehicle first. He has been so good about helping with pain and everything else, I'm sure he will sign the papers for me.
Thanks again! MB

hi, I'm new to the site, but as far as handicap parking goes, you have to go to the dept of motor vehicles in your state and ask for it then take it to your Dr. for their signature and condition, bring it back and they'll issue it to you there for free hope I helped.

I got the handicapped placard, so I can use it when riding with others in their cars, as opposed to the license plate that goes right on your vehicle. Mine expires in 2013 I think.

You know my husband keeps saying that I need to get the license plate but you are right, there are times I go with other people and still need the card. I had actually never thought of that before.
Like one of those V-8 moments..lol
Thanks for that post, it made me see I still need my placecard.
Hugs,
Lisa

My doctor filled out paper work for me to have a tempory disablity permit last october, at that point he was worried about me slipping and falling and hurting myself. When it expired (its only good for 6 months) he filled out the papers for another tempory permit for me. Which will be expiring October 1st so I have to talk to him again at my appoitment in two weeks. I'm hopping he will fill out the paper work for a permenet permit. After having a tempory one for a year.
In Wisconsin for a tempory permit (1 of the things that hangs in the car) is $12.00 if you want two it's more expensive. I also belive their is a charge for the perminit one as well.

I'm in NJ also and it was easy. Just need a letter from the Doc and I did it all in the mail. Easy. My wife insisted I get it and it was a great idea.
