Also wanted to mention that I went ahead and booked myself a spot on May 13th-27th. I've investigated radon and specifically the Montana mine pretty extensively so I'll be interested to see how it turns out.

I'll post some updates while I'm there per request of snowshoe and orch and others. I also should mention the operator of the mine is named Pat and she is very amiable and quick to reply to any emails she receives.

I went in October of 2007. At the time I was in rough shape. It was very hard to bathe, dress and feed myself. A few weeks earlier my wife was doing all this for me. I was showing some improvement, but still in pretty rough shape when I went to Montana. About a week before I left, I had just begun antibiotic therapy with minocycline. There was improvement before I went, while I was there, and after. Before I left Montana I rented a car as I was able to drive for the first time in 8 weeks. I was opening jars before I left. Very big improvement. The improvement continued for some weeks after I left Montana, and within a month or two, I was at the point where I have been since...mostly normal....I have a baseline of pain in my hands and feet.....I can no longer do pushups, can't run nearly as much as I used to.....but overall, doing fine.

One problem is I can't know if the antibiotic therapy was responsable, the radon, or the flare was simply playing itself out or any combination of the above.

I am beginning to get symptoms in my ribs.......up to now I have been primarily hands and feet with very mild spine involvement.

I plan to go this year, which will be a better test since other factors have been in a steady state for a long time.

I will let everyone know how it goes, whenever I get up there....Brian
