I am into this chelation therapy and seriously considering it. I searched the net and found these two type products.
HMD Heavy Metal Detox
Metal Detox

Are they sort of similar products prescribed by the doctors for hospital treatment?
Or is it done differently in hospitals? May I ask this therapy to my rheumy doctor? Do docs have to decide that I am eligible for this therapy? or just asking is enough? Any side effects? How long does it take the body detoxify using the medicine? And is there any cross reaction with other drugs while on this treatment?
Thank you.

Hi, Petra:

I have done chelation and it got me out of a major flare. Many years ago.

No ordinary physician will recommend chelation, except in cases of heavy metal exposure! I do not know whether any of the oral (or other route...) products are as effective as the infusions.

It is not routinely done in hospitals, but can be when indicated: Heavy metal poisoning is the only condition, that I am aware of, when chelation is employed.

I have a friend who is 86 years old and had all the heart bypasses he can (out of leg veins) and he requires chelation monthly to keep his arteries open. When he does not get this treatment, he begins having heart attacks (like an elephant standing on his chest) he is out of time, also (the last bypass was to last 3-5 years and he is two years beyond that). I have been with him to Mexico, where he goes on occasion for the treatments (at low cost and twice the usual concentration of EDTA).

Although the infusion contains some vitamins, it is important to take mineral supplements after the procedure, especially calcium and magnesium. There are no known drug interactions with EDTA, but it is best to avoid taking required medications well before the (each) procedure.

I noticed almost immediate relief from the flare, but continued through five or six treatments and got better still. It apparently takes about 30 treatments to cut down on arterial plaque, which is the goal of most procedures performed today.

One of our members, who tried at the NSD with few good results, required chelation (a confirmed heavy-metal load) before the diets began working properly.

In Mexico, the procedure is inexpensive, I don't require a doctor's prescription, and I can also purchase large quantities of antibiotics to smuggle across the border. I win; my health wins. Maybe I'll help found a rheumatic diseases clinic there!

Regards,
John

Oh, hey...I was wondering how you got those antibiotic scripts, Dragonslayer!

Hi there.

My partner Charlie has been Chelating Mercury from his stsyem for 18 months now and from being in a wheelchair then he is now back, professionally climbing and working and walking and is on only one celebrex every 72 hours versus 8 a day and taking steroid shots...etc...

He is strict NSD but can now eat many foods that one year ago were impossible. All as a result from chelating.

If you or anyone reading this is looking into Mercury Toxicity and its relation to the auto immune system I would urge you to seek out Andy Cutlers Book:

http://www.noamalgam.com/

There is a supporting worldwide Yahoo group who can advise you too, like KickAS but for those wanting to chelate. Many prescribed 'conventional' Doctors will advise protocols which are too agressive and will make you more ill. Andy Cutlers protocol for chelation is hard to follow, as it advises small amounts of DMSA and ALA every 3/4 hours for 3/4 days on... but if you are serious about this, then I would really recommend this publication and the Yahoo support group.

I could harp on for hours about the damaging relationship between mercury and AS. Following this protocol and looking into the direct effects mercury has for suffers of AS has opened our eyes. Please seek out this book and get a hair test done.

Best of luck in your path and kind regards,

Please e mail me if you need any more info.

Good luck.

My mom told me of our old pastor who was going to get triple bypass surgery, and he found a doctor just outside of the Niagara region who does them. He went for his infusions(I don't know how long or how many i think 30), then went back to his surgeon and his surgeon could no longer find any reason that he would need the surgery. He avoided them cracking his chest open apparently from these infusions. He says that his eye sight also went from poor to better than the previous couple decades! I thought maybe it was cause he's so close to god, but I think now these infusions did the trick! (God not excluded)

My doc in Michigan does IV chelation and once I get the $$ I'm going to do it. The clinic does it regularly for clearing arteries in the elderly too and a host of other reasons. It's almost like their cure-all! I think there's only 2 clinics in the whole state that do it.

My hair analysis was not very high in anything but arsenic... surprisingly because I've been pumped full of mercury thru vaccinations... happily I have NO mercury fillings.

My daughter has done DMSA... a pill form which is not as good, but works better on children. But her body is so nutrient deficient from chemo drugs for a kidney problem, we've not been able to do further rounds. She was given the meds thru her pediatrician because she tested high in ALL heavy metals at age 5.
