Hi Guys. I don't know about you but I'm freezing my [**BLEEP**] off with all this winter weather! I can't bear another green crisp (v cold) salad!! Any one out there with any NSD/DF soup recipes or other winter warmers. Thanks!

Hi there,

Chicken soup is always good.

Just butterfly a whole chicken and remove the skin. Simmer for 2 hours in water with chopped celery and onion.

Strain, remove chicken bones and put the shredded chicken back into the broth and if you like you could add some pre-cooked prawns. Yum.

If you do make Jeanne's Cauliflower Soup just be sure to cook a little bit of the cauliflower beforehand and test with iodine to be sure it isn't starchy.

Cauliflower can be tricky and test inconsistently with iodine... it's all to do with when they are harvested. The longer they are left in the ground the starchier they get. So take care with those.

Have a look in the recipe forum... there'll be a few other ideas in there.

Posted in the recipe section, but I'm having trouble finding safe store bought broth. Is there one to use in a pinch?

I've used Kitchen Basics brand Beef Stock without problem. You may want to try their Chicken Broth.

Kind Regards,
