Hi Everyone.Well tomorrow i go to the rheumatologist for my second visit.Im not looking forward to the 150 mile drive.I have learned a lot from this site and will be able to ask more questions that i have learned from all you people.I really hope she can do something for me........even if the pain is just reduced to a tollerable level. My neck is so stiff and sore and so is the lower back.If i have to go on biologics i hope my insurance will cover it......if not im SOL!!I will follow up later.Hoping for the best.

Fonzy, my fingers are very crossed for you. I hope you get all your questions answered... Please let me know how things go... I am sure I will be able to learn more from you.... I am going to make appointment with a rheumy today and hope for more answers my self...just hoping it doesn't take 2 or 3 months to get in.... That is a long drive you have to make but hoping it is very worth it!!!!!! Oh my it is about noon need to call before they close for lunch....I just took a minute to call the rheumy that I went to once before months ago.... and they didn't have any thing open for a month or more... and she asked why I was asking for the appointment and I simply told her the pain was terrible and she said hold a minute...when she came back to the phone she asked me about coming in today at 3:45...so double cross your fingers for me too.....

Fonzy, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. If she recommends one of the biologics and your benefits won't cover it entirely, there are other options for financing. Hopefully, something could be worked out for you.

Please do let us know how it goes.

Hugs,

Kat

Hi Fonzy,
Good luck tomorrow. I hope all goes well.
Have you heard of the Trillium Drug Program? Someone mentioned it to me at work the other day (I had not heard of it before.)
The website says: The Trillium Drug Program (TDP) is intended for Ontario residents who have a valid Ontario Health Card and who have high prescription drug costs in relation to their net household income.

http://www.health.gov.on.ca/english/public/pub/drugs/trillium.html

Looks like it might be worth checking out.
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed too!

Best of luck, I hope your rheumy turns out to be worth the harrowing journey.

I would write down all of my questions tonight. I'm the kind of person who will have a thousand questions but when I get to the doctor's office, all I can manage to say is "I'm fine".

It's really good to see someone taking a proactive role in their own treatment - that is the way to do it. Good luck.
