Hi, I was wondering if anyone has noticed that their hair has thinned considerably since being on enbrel?

No, I hadn't heard that but I'm certainly going to tell people that! It could explain a lot.

Of course, in my case, this is absolutely not true...my hair has been thinning out with a race-eeding hairline for years.

I haven't noticed any further hair loss since starting biologics.

I lost about half of my hair about a year and a half ago, and it just doesn't seem to like the idea of growing back. At the time, I was on enbrel, but had been for years already. Around that time I had added nexium and celebrex and attributed the hair loss to that, but came off of that many months ago, and still no hair. So I really don't know exactly what caused it, but I was on enbrel... makes me wonder. I'm only on gabapentin and amitriptyline now, so hopefully I can sprout some new locks and ditch the hats/wigs!

hmm, i just wonder if there is a link. I came off the contraceptive pill about 6 months before i started enbrel and was diagnosed with polyctstic ovaries a few months after i started enbrel. I noticed my hair had started thinning considerably about 6 months after i started enbrel but always attributed it to the PCOS, although when i've been off the pill before I never experienced hair loss, in fact my hair has always been one of my assets until 18 months or so ago. I went back on the pill a year ago and expected my hair to improve but it hasn't, now i've stopped the enbrel so will see if my hair starts growing more.....interesting, just wondered if anyone experienced hair loss.

several/many meds are related to hair loss...
methotrexate really thinned out the top of my head and left big holes in my beard...ugly

i've been on enbrel for nearly five years.

about six months ago i stopped taking prevacid because my tummy felt 'healed up'
and we wanted to work on calcium improvements to try to stop bone loss...
well a month after stopping the prevacid...all my hair fell out...all of it...in about two weeks...i'm devastated...there is some strange man in my bathroom mirror- i don't
recognize him, so i turn the lights off most days.

i don't assume causality from anything, here...
prevacid can cause some hair loss, but they said stopping the stuff couldn't do it...
and the enbrel folks say there has been no change in the enbrel formula...enbrel
does admit some folks have 'thinning' hair but they don't think they could have
anything to do with it because shucks i'd been on it for four years to no ill effect.

good lord, that is awful alohaben, for someone with as much hair as you have it must be devastating. Doesn't sound like its the enbrel for you, not that that helps, just wanted to send some hugs your way, i really feel for you x

Yes I have noticed but when I called my RA she said that it had nothing to do with the Enbrel?? I am starting to get concerned. My hair is thin to begin with. The doct told me not to stress so much?? I am still worried !

On all the biologics my hair seems to be falling out. Eyelashes, eyebrows, down there hair, the hair on my head. I had hair down to my butt, but had to cut it because of this loss. it's now shoulder length. I'm very sad about it.
