I've already talked to my rhuemy last week, but they did not seem overally concerned... The day after my shot the injection site swelled to be 6 inches long and 3.5 inches wide. The injection site itched for over a week.(I have been taking benidryl prior to my injection)

A few days after my injection my husband noticed a rash on both of my legs from the ankle up to the knee. It's a tiny red speakeld rash. It does not itch but it doesn't really want to go away either.

Just wanting to know if anyone else has experianced anything like this? I'm going to try one more injection on Sunday night, but if I have the same reaction I'm not sure about continuing.

I'm lucky.. I haven't had any rashes since being on Humira. I hope your rash goes away quickly for you!

Thanks... The rash at my injection site went away in about a week or so, but the rash on my legs is just starting to go away. I'm prayin when I take my next injection I don't have this problem. Been off of Humira for 3 wks due to an infection.

Hi Kim,

I started Humira just over 2 weeks ago and was fine until after a week when a rash like yours appeared on my arms, legs/feet, back and injection site but the rash was quite itchy sometimes. I went to the doctors and she said it was an allergic reaction to the Humira and gave me an antihistamine. When I spoke to my Rhuematologist he said not to take any more injections as it could make the reaction even worse I am now awaiting an appointment to see what to do now. I had only had 1 injection of Humira and was starting to feel the benefits so I am feeling quite disheartened as I was really feeling more positive about it all and couldn't wait for my next injection. Hoping my appointment isn't too far off so I can get my medication sorted and start too feel alot better soon.

Hi Kevin thank you for the welcome:) Glad Humira is working for you. My body has become really sore all over now and joints that weren't sore before are sore now! Still waiting for an appointment starting accupuncture soon so hopefully that will help with my neck pain. Morv:)

I did find I got a lot of pain in my hips and knees soon after I started on Humira.Ive just had my 4th jab and Im not feeling so much pain now.Of course this could just be coincidence. Have to wait and see.
I dont go back to my rhumi till August so another 4 before then.

I'm so sorry you broke out with a rash too. The Humira was helping me as well. It didn't work to well for my si joints but it helped with everything else which was still a blessing. My rhuemy still wants me to take it but because of my reaction to the medication I will not take it again because each time I had taken it, it got worce.

I'm praying your rhuemy can get you on something that will help you soon.

Kim,

Has your doctor seen the rash?

I have something like that on my legs. At first, I thought it was a rash, but it didn't itch either. Turns out it is vasculitis which is inflimation of veins.

It spread to my feet, upper legs and butt.

I get it all the time now.

I dont take humera, not sure if vasculitis is related to AS, but im willing to bet there are other ASers with vasculitis.

Hugs,

Chele
