I've tested around 8-10 different brands of coconut miilk and they are all starchy. I used to get Grace because I thought it wasn't. I recently tested 3 cans in a row and they were all starchy. Does anyone have any non starch brands in Canada? Anyone know anything about this?

I don't know about what's in Canada, but the one i've been using is Thai something, maybe Taste of Thai (don't have currently in pantry, cant remember full name sorry), there were three brands at the store nearby and i went with the only one that have just coconut milk and water (maybe guar gum) the others had preservatives.

Wanted to also mention 'It's So Delicious' brands of soy products are selling coconut milk products that are dairy and soy free. The milk was in the refrigerated natural foods section of the store - its a beverage with added minerals and sugar, a little too sweet for my taste but a great milk alternative and it passed the iodine test. they also have yogurt and ice cream products but haven't tested them yet. good luck.

OHHHHH!!!!!! So Delicious coconut ice cream is to dance around in a jig for..... I am waiting (impatiently) to become pain free to see if my body can handle it. Certain flavors test fine with iodine- I think it was the first thing I tested (lol)

Have any NSDers tried this?????!!!!!??? I'm dying to know!!!!!????!

Also, in my pre nsd days I used to use "Let's Do... Organic" creamed coconut... it is actuall a dried cube and works well in recipes. I bave not tested it yet (I will if you like), but it is 100% coconut.

Anyone try to make homemade coconut milk from dried coconut? As long as it was without any added junk it would not be starchy, right?
I loooooove coconut!

Hi,
This came up a while ago.... I know that Wholefoods brand 365 (A USA natural foods store) coconut milk is starch free the last time I tested it.
I don't know who the actual manufacturer is though. But that means there should be another brand out there that is also starch free. If you open the can and the water is separated from the milk it is much more likely to be no starch or low starch. If it is completely homogenized stay way.
Good luck,
Alecia
