If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi
Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions for a problem I'm experiencing.
I have been having Enbrel injections for about 10 weeks and it has had a wonderful affect on all my joint pain and stiffness.
My problem is that when I lie down I get awful spasms around lower back. It takes about an hour for them to settle down and I can then sleep or do my exercises. Getting up is painful too, so is walking.
Any thoughts much appreciated.
Thanks
Nicola

I have been on Enbrel for two weeks now and I notice spasms around my ribs coming back (only after I have been asleep for awhile). I had these spasms around my ribs as my first sign of AS back in January (when I had no idea what was going on), then the true bone/joint pain hit my low back, hips and even went to elbows, wrists, shoulders. My arms feel much better with the Enbrel, but I notice now this rib spasm thing coming back (which I have not had for about 4 months now, rather just all the other "stuff"). I have a muscle relaxer (very minimal dose) that I think I will take as an experiment tonight to see if that helps. Good luck.

Hi Jay, if you're asking on how you can determine if what you're experiencing is a muscle spasm, I think it would be best to discuss your symptoms with a doctor or physiotherapist, or perhaps even a massage therapist? Sorry I can't be of more help! Maybe someone else will chime in with some better advice. Hope it gets better for you soon.
