If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi Guys, Can anyone help? First of all I am on humira. I have cut my finger quite badly, have had it all patched up but am a little worried and confused as to if my humira is going to cause me problems. They have said I may need antibiotics?. Will the humira cause any problems with the healing? or infection?. If anyone can help I would be most greatful! All comments very welcome! Thnaks LuLu

Hi LuLu. Did you get it seen to at the Hospital and tell them you were on Humira. As long as its kept clean and there is no infection you should be ok worth taking antibiotics just in case . Healing might take a little longer. Keep a close eye on it and inform your Rheumy. Kevin

Went to a wound clinic today to get it checked they seem to think that it may be infected but no antibiotics as yet! Just bit worried as white count is 3.4 at the mo! Thanks again kevin!

I have an agreement with my Rheumy that I can always get antibiotics from him if needed for just this reason. Discuss this with him. Allot of GP's do not understand the implications with Anti-TNF. If bad enough your Rheumy may suggest delaying your next shot. I would not suggest taking your shot if you have an infection. It might flare up into a major infection or septic shock.

I second this. More than half the time when I mentione Humira or AS I get the blank stare. A bit scary in my opinion.

As I understand it, Humira doesn't cause infections; it lowers our immune systems so that our bodies have a very hard time fighting off infection. Watch the injured area for signs of infection; at the first sign get to a dr. for antibiotics.

I got the flu a week or so ago and still trying to get better! I take Humira bi weekly. It is a lot harder to fight off infections. I have already went through a box of Tramiflu but now i have infection in my lungs and chest cavity. I wash my hands and desk all the time but sometimes you just can't run from it.
