Hi all.
Had my Rheumy visit today about all the pain Im getting in Feet,Knees,Hips and Shoulders. The xrays of my feet show degeneration of joints but no sign of osteoporosis yet. Having Shoulders and knees done next to see how bad they are. Rheumy said the pain Ive got now is from the damage caused by the inflamation and will always be there Lucky Im used to it just keep going as I am What fun . Could have Injection in shoulders if I want to see if it would help ease the pain will decide next visit in 4weeks. Pain clinic tomorrow its all go Then the dreaded bowl Doc next week be on the telly again I expect. .

Hi Kevin!

Good news that you have no OA in the feet- you have enough on your plate I think. Fingers crossed on the knees and shoulders. Your next few weeks sound like no fun- bowel doc? Ugh!

Hopefully the pain clinic can help- sounds like the anti TNF has helped so maybe they can make a dent in the pain-levels- give it a one two punch!

You are Kicking AS!

Hey there! Sorry to hear of your pain I just wanted you to know that I do get injections in 5 different muscle groups periodically! Either Lidocaine or depo medrol or both! They do help in my back. Cuts down on spasms! Having them on my SI joints are quite painful at times! But makes it better a bit after! Sometimes are better than others but even a small relief gives me room to breath! But never is it so much relief that I can function normally! But I feel it is worth a try keep us posted!

Hi Kevin,
I'm glad to hear that you were able to discuss everything going on and that your doctors are working hard for you. Going to the pain clinic sounds like a good choice, and maybe they have something for you that will effectively knock out that pain right away. Shoulder pains can be just awful, even more when they get hard to sleep on. You did great, and good luck at your upcoming appointments.
Take care,
James

Hi Kevin,

This is really crappy for you and I'm so sorry. I particularly feel for your shoulder pain as that is currently my worse pain and sometimes makes me feel nauseous. I have been forced to sleep on my back for nearly a year now because of it - can't lie on the left one for more than about five minutes and can't lie on the right one at all. The things is I know you are not able to sleep on your back because of your kyphosis so I really wonder how you are coping with the shoulder pain.

Wish there was something that could be done. I guess it might be helpful to know what kind of damage has been done - perhaps some kind of surgery could relieve up to and including a shoulder replacement.

Hi Wendy.
I sleep on my right side its my left shoulder thats worse hope the xrays will show whats going on. It had eased off yesterday and I felt fairly good then my rheumy nurse got hold of it and it hurts again now. Not feeling so good today anyway think I might have a big flare coming.

I think in the past you've mentioned that the rheumy nurse is good, otherwise I'd suggest you give her a talking to. I won't let anyone grab my right shoulder - I've developed quite a reflex if anyone tries!
