If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hello everyone...am I [**BLEEP**] glad to have found this site - I suspect it will become an invaluable community to me from here on in.
I've been taking Humira for about a year now but my wife is now in the 'broody' mood and so the time is upon us to try for our second child. The info I get from doctors and over t'interweb is a bit mixed and confused about the health risks of pregnancy and humira - baring in mind it's only the man who is on the drug.
So, how long would you advise to be off it totally before trying and what are the risks should I not?
I've been off it now for three weeks only and I'm in agony like the bad old days so really don't want to prolong this any longer than necessary.
Any advice welcome....cheers.

Sorry about that! Poorly finger not helping typing! I am female so not sure if the same applies I was told that if I wanted another baby I would have to wait 5 months before trying for another baby! Do you not have a TNF nurse that you can contact for advice, I do and she knows just about everything about the drug and is always available to help? LuLu

Hi Beefy, Humira is now considered a pregnancy category B drug - so if it is safe for women to take during pregnancy, I assume it would probably be safe for a man to take it during the time his child was conceived too. But it would be best to talk to your doc about it. Or maybe give a call to the Humira nurse line - usually you're given a help number when you start Humira. They should be able to tell you the latest. drugs.com Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback.....I've also been told five months, but that means I could be off the Humira for a long long time because I'd probably wait until three months into pregnancy before going back on it. I'm eager to minimize the time off it and logic has me thinking that a mans sperm (I think) reproduces itself after three months so surely for a man, three months is sufficent??
Interesting what was said about it being downgraded as a risk in pregnancy - I wonder if it's viewed differently and advised accordingly depending on country??

Try calling Humira makers..or look up MyHumira...they have a really great and extensive support system in place for those of us who use Humira.
