If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Woah there. So ... is the implication that Canadians are cheesy? And that Mig is winey? There's something fishy here....

Hi Ronel,
I just wanted to note that I think that most of the No Starch Dieters also believe in the same "taking control of your own health" way of treatment. Your post is not too far from that. If I didn't have to take the last few meds that I absolutely needed (anti-depressant, asthma inhaler and heart meds etc) I would be on the same bandwagon, or at least one solely based on alternative treatments. This is not by choice though, what happened for me was somehow my body is no longer agreeing with all of the meds I have taken, in other words, I'm getting side effects and complications now, except from the few meds that I still do take. Let the records show that I do not take any 'arthritis' meds, which the exception of a pain-killer. If any AS forum accepts alternative types of treatments, and or ways of thinking / philosophies, remedies etc, it would be this one. Of course, I can't speak for everyone here, but generally speaking this forum is by far one of the best I have ever visited.
On a side note, I was never under the impression that your post came off as a 'cure' or 'perfect treatment' because you mentioned he did have a minor setback while he took the time to write a post. You and your brother didn't have to include that, but you did, and that showed honesty, which is what I admire the most in people. It is a very interesting post, please do keep similar posts coming if possible.
Every now and then people will hear me speak of things like Boswellia, Apple Cider Vinegar, Magnesium, or all combined, or some other out of the ordinary things like my hot-sauce thread lol. I post about them because I truly believe in them and I feel they help me (at least to an extent). There is nothing wrong with what you posted, believe that. Remember, think positively Hope to see you around.
Take care,
James

I just started reading this thread today (Wednesday) and have made it to Angelmom's reply just now, and have to respond....
As for being able to positively think your way out of illness....Not in a million years if it is a physical illness. Positive thinking can HELP your recovery, but not be the sole cause of the recovery. My ex-spouse (one of the reasons he is an ex) several years ago told me I could positively think my way out of severe depression. (he told me several other useless 'cures') HA! A few months later, I was hospitalized for suicidal ideation and major depression. Meds and cognitive therapy, over a few years finally put this in the past.
As for my inflammatory arthritis (being treated as AS), there is no way on earth that thinking positively is going to make that go away. For 10 yrs, I've had pain of some sort relating to this. Maybe I wasn't thinking positively enough? It's only now that I'm on methotrexate that I could start having positive thoughts....that this is the right drug that can help me. Without the constant pain...the positive thinking could be a little easier.
Ronel, I'm not jumping on you or your brother in this post. I think the things he is doing are helpful to him and this website is all about being helpful. Some things are helpful to some and not helpful at all to others. We share these things in the hopes of helping someone else.
Before I had the diagnosis of inflam-arthr, I was not a happy camper. I hurt a lot and had been to numerous doctors to get relief/diagnosis for this pain. While I still have much of the same pain, it's different now that it has been 'acknowledged'. I can work toward accepting that I have an autoimmune disease and work toward controlling it with medication, etc. But I don't see positive thinking as any more than a small part of the big picture.
And I think Dr Wood was right on....if what you are saying doesn't match up with what you are really feeling in your heart, it's just doo-doo. And you will feel worse.

Hi Brad. I understand your feelings I think. I just want to be happy for those who do get relief whatever the reason. Hope you are feeling ok. Hugs. Possi

Hi Everyone! My name is Will. I'm Ronel's brother.I found a way to get better (read my story again Ronel posted a few days ago.)This will be my only time you will see something from me on this forum.I was just like you, absolutely desperate to get better.I had to get through hell and back to get where I'm at the moment.Lost my family, work,etc.etc.At the moment I don't take any medicine and my pain is nearly totally gone!!I STOPPED TO "ENJOY" THE SICKNESS.Got of my "as" and started to do something about it.Most of you see the AS as a hobby, love to talk about it, love the attention you get from it.The more you "enjoy" the sickness the more you'll have it!Thanks James-I'm all good!!If you are ready for some changes in your life contact me.I know the answer how to beat this terrible sickness. My email is will.mostert@hotmail.com Don't come to me with negative stuff. For the negative people: enjoy your sickness. That's where you want to be.I'm proud of my sis-she's on the right way.Kind regards,Will Mostert

I can promise you there isn't 1 person here that views their AS or illness as a "hobby" that again is a very poor choice of words as were the more you "enjoy" the sickness the more you will have it. You love to talk about it and you love the attention you get from it. This is really, really sad because of your arrogance, THAT right there would stop me from wanting to hear anything you had to say on the subject or hear from you at all.
From that post I can't see how anyone would want to contact you at all especially when I read..don't come to me with your negative stuff enjoy your illness.
I guess I will just stay here and wallow in my illness.
WOW! Thats about all I can say right now without getting booted from the site myself. I will also stop before I say something I don't think I would regret.

Sue, you might be disappointed, but do you really want to get better? Like you name say "Addicted to AS Kicking" Are you addicted to the sickness too? Do you really want to kick this AS? I don't mind what you say, but do you know what? I'm like Ronel - I would like to help everyone on this forum - If you want help, if you are willing to change your mindset about this sickness. I changed my total thinking about this sickness and that is where the answer is!!But I don't fool around about this sickness anymore - I DON'T ACCEPT IT!I DON'T GIVE IT ANY ENERGY! You can get better when you change your mind about this sickness. It's not easy, it took me neerly 3 years to get where I'm at the moment. I hope you will be better soon. I'll pray for you too. That was the last time that you will see anything from me again on this forum - it's not doing me any good.
