One of my doctors here swears by his piece of 100% chocolate each day for keeping him healthy despite dealing with lots of patients recently who have had bad colds etc. Must be 100% with no sugar or other additives..... Yep, a doc 'prescribing' choclate!

Yeah, I am not going to get the vaccine either. I have never had a flu shot and I am still here. Humans have been on this planet for a long time without any shots or vaccines. Good practice for your immune system!!

Breaking News: Craig - BBC has just announced 5 patients with underlying health problems have been hospitalised in Wales with a new strain of H1N1 - new strain is resistant to tamiflue... Ho-Hum! Sigh.
Awaiting more info with a broader scope update.

Thanks for the update Molly! If it gets really bad then I would take the vaccine. I guess you have to weigh the good and bad.

Some clarification: the five patients were already in hospital, so were already ill anyways! They contracted the H1N1 virus bug in hospital, but they contracted, are presenting with, a NEW strain of the H1N1 - therefore the H1N1 has mutated. This is a world first so tis said. The new strain is resistant to tamiflue.
News did not say IF the patients were vaccinated agin H1N1 and/or seasonal flue virus. One patient is already discharged to home; one is in intensive care; the others are being nursed in isolation.

No doubt more info will be forthcoming.

http://blogs.healthfreedomalliance.org/b...ates-bioweapon/Of some interest. Ukraine. New H1N1 virus that has not mutated but, it is strongly suggested has become mixed with a lab bio escape...! Therefore, has been labelled a 'bio weapon'. Hmmmmm. Sounds a tad hysterical. Taking antibiotics is highly detrimental - don't. Antibiotics will make matters worse (in the Ukraine one can purchase antibiotics over the counter, no script needed, so people are self medicating.) Most people will not be that badly effected but, those with a compromised autoimmune system will be in a poor position. Of interest is that the Professor recommends that one wears a face mask and protective specs - this new virus enters through mucus membranes. Also, that one increases Vit-C, Vit-D, and have a well balanced diet AND cut out all sugar and fructose. To which I would add, Colloidal Silver, spray back back of throat and zap it with Zinc. So the news unfolds...

We have an excellent poster in our washrooms at work that suggests the following measures to either prevent you catching the flu or, if you do catch it, to keep the severity down. The measures are based on the fact that, after the first droplet(s) of the virus arrive in your nose or mouth, they then have to multiply before they begin to make you sick and that doesn't happen instantly - it takes a few hours/days. So the goal of these measures is to kill off as many as possible. 1. Drink lots of hot liquid all day - this washes the virus from your throat area down into your stomach where the stomach acid kills it. 2. Gargle twice daily with salt water or listerine . Again this will kill the virus that is in your mouth or throat. 3. Swab your nostrils daily with warm salt water (using a Q tip) 4. Wash your hands thoroughly and regularly and avoid contact with your face. Particularly, wash your hands before eating or touching your face. The goal is to kill the virus before it has a chance to multiply or at least reduce the quantity so the effects will be diminished. Don't know if all this works but it makes some logical sense and isn't too difficult to do.

Wendy - Makes absolute sense. Well done the poster work
Afore going into hospital for any procedures, they usually insist that the patient sluices down with an aniseptic wash which should be used to rinse out the nasal pasages as well as. This is to contra the MRSA bug that so loves warmth and moisture. This measure is to be followed for a full week prior to, then the hospital follows up with the same daily regime for the duration of the hospitalisation period.

So, that listerine and saline regime follows the same pathhways. The other measure is to use the Coloidal Silver spray into the back of the throat and up the nose as well. As the CS kills off those moisture loving buggles.

 Good measures to follow.

Great post Wendy!!!! My dad is always telling me to gargle with Listerine when I first get sick. I always resist thinking it is unnecessary. Oops! Father knows best!!

I quickly glanced over something yesterday that there were some Tamiflu resistant cases in the state of North Carolina in the U.S.
Also, just read an article this morning from a Philadelphia (PA) newspaper that much of what is being claimed to be the swine flu might actually be a nasty form of rhinovirus (common cold).

 Kind Regards,
 Jay
