Hello Inanna
I'm not sure about the SI thing? The pain is not always on the left. sometimes I get it down my right buttock and down that side. The pain shifts from side to side - therefore indicating AS I think. It's tricky to figure out - the human body is a complicated thing to understand! I will research SI though so I have a balanced view about this. Thanks for your suggestions.

I can see you have well and truly been welcomed aboard Tinkerbell. I just wanted to add that you must meet Molly (Mollyc1i) via a PM. She is one of the sweetest mother-figures on KickAs and she is an english woman living in Normandy.

that sounds like classic SI to me! and that's a classic AS symptom as well.

Yup, the sciatic pain can shift sides on a whim. As can AS disease activity. It's kind of a never-ending roller coaster ride.

Hugs,

Hello Felicity
Thanks for your message,
I have indeed been in touch with Molly - she sent me a welcome message and I PM'd her back.
Everyone I've met on this website is well worth knowing.
I'm so pleased I joined.
I hope I can be here for everyone as much as everyone has been here for me already!

Hi Tink,
Thank you for sharing your story. Although I can't imagine living starch free, it is good to know it is an option which seems to work. So, thanks for coming out of lurking mode, you've already given someone hope smile

I'm fairly new here also and unlike most here I am really struggling with finding my sense of humor. I get killer migraines w/my AS creeping into my neck, it has been nearly impossible to smile for a few days now. It is not really 'me'(I really am an optimist), but I'm trying.

Good for you taking such good care of yourself and being able to keep up with your little ones! That is wonderful smile

Hi Lisa
Thanks for your message.
So sorry to hear about your migraines and pain - no wonder you're having trouble smiling at the moment!
Sometimes you have to let other's do the smiling for you and sooner or later it'll rub off on you!!
How long have you had AS? Or when did you get diagnosed?
Hope you soon feel much better.
How do you do those smilies? It's bugging the hell out of me that I can't do it!!!

Hey Tinkerbell,

The menu for smilies doesn't show when you are using 'Quick Reply'... you will only find them when you reply to someone's post by clicking on the 'Reply' button you see underneath every post, (in the string that reads: Edit | Reply | Quote | Quick Reply | Notify | Email Post).

The smilie menu is a big happy face!

Hope this makes sense,
mig
