Greetings Frunobulax and all,

I don't know who Gordon Bennett is either.
The update on catholic education seems to have activated some old memories. My girl came home today and again regaled me witha story from Personal development class.
They had to draw a human figure then put a line vertically down th centre. Then theyhad to put arrows and make notes down each side detailing the changes that boys undergo through puberty(right hand side) and then the same thing for girls on the left hand side.
What a great way to indicate to kids that men and women are both from planet earth (not Mars or Venus) and share the woes of adolescence, but in different ways.

I was surprised to learn from my Buddhism teacher ( a course I am undergoing the last six weeks) that the city's catholic schools ALL visit the Buddhism Centre as part of their course on comparitive religion. OH GOD!!!
Sounds like religion was rarely comparitive in your younger day.!!
The measure of how much things have changed is that I am very happy sending her to a catholic school, although I am a long way from catholicism myself.
By the way Catholicism in Oz has evolved from the Irish model(early immigration) and is more easy going than maybe the Spanish model or some others.

Giddo

Kristin,

Gordon Benett is a more polite way of blaspheming without actually saying any of the words.

A Prince Albert, well, I know what it is but I'm not discussing it in an open forum!

And Giddo, I completely agree with the self acceptance thing - I made a start on this back in October last year, funnily enough about the time I joined Kickas and have seen many benefits from it!

Cheers
Jo
