If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Nascar rocks!! Glad to see so many people who like the sport as much as I do. I'm hoping to make one of the W/C races at Michigan this year. If not that, shoot I'd take the Busch race. My fav in Busch is Greg Biffle. Been following him since his days driving the Grainger Ford truck. Was as the truck race 2 years ago. Awesome show. My fav used to be Mark Martin too. Just not real thrilled with his apparant lack of enthusiasm for his sport anymore. Actually I like all the guys. Yep even Jeff Gordon (wow! that was hard to swallow). I just look for an exciting & safe race every Sunday.

Glenn, I have quite a few 1/64 scale and about 6 or 8 1/24's.Most of them are Earnhardt and Jr. with a few Gordon's thrown in.I was starting to get out of control collecting these things and stopped shortly before Earnhardt's death.I will have to dig them out of there tomb to get specific on what i have.I just might do that some weekend.
Best of luck, LD

Pulled into the sport by my wife. She loves it and I never really gave it much attention. But then I got her tickets in vegas for a race and being there by the track was a real rush! Now I love to watchit on tv too. We rush home on sundays to make sure we get bback in time for the broadcast. Gordon is our favorite but this year he's really having problems. Wife said he's getting divorce for "unmartial like conduct." Well if I ever get the wife started here you all will be able to chat 'till the sun rises or the next race starts LOL. Take care. Oh my new hobbie is balsa wood Models for radio control flight. Anyone else?
It's only a moment in time and all things shall pass.
AND SO IT GOES...

I'm guessing that a person stays a "lurker" until they start posting so here I am getting out of that "title". Been a couple of weeks since the last post here so thought I'd get things going again. Use to watch racing back in the 80s but didn't follow it heavily. Got back into it the beginning of last year and unfortunately we were watching the Daytona 500. Even though I had not been following NASCAR, the tragic death of Dale Earnhardt still was a stinger. We were at friends watching the race and left after the race was over not realizing until a couple hours later, seeing it on the news, that he was killed in the crash. It was a tough way to start to become a serious "buff". Have some favorite drivers, Sterlin; Mark Martin; Dale Jarrett; Jr; Michael Waltrip; Tony Stewart. Like Kurt Busch and Jimmie Johnson, too. I do have to say that I don't like the "whiners", being Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Spencer. I think they like the saying "Do unto others then split...." So, interesting Busch and Winston Cup races at Richmond this last weekend. Busch race looked like a bunch of "hacks" out there and no second groove came in for the W/C race. Too bad about Benson in the Busch race though Joe Nemechek did a great job replacing him. Any how about Robby Gordon checking to see if the waterbarrel barrier worked properly at the entrance of Pit Row?!?! *chuckles* Said he lost traction on some paint. And do any of you watch Inside Winston Cup on The Speed Channel? Came across it back at the beginning of the season and love it. Think Ken, Johnny and Michael bring a "unique" view of the races. Well, that's if for now. Hopefully we can continue this a bit more and have weekly comments on the races. No W/C this weekend but Busch is up in my neck of the woods this weekend. I'm in Maine and only 4 hours from Loudon. That close so I need to get to a race. Oh yeah, since I am from Maine, I do have a sentimental favorite in Ricky Craven. The "T I D E car" ( Ask DW calls it) isn't having too bad of a year so far. Take care all!
Shalom, Jeff

I am just getting started with this group but I will tell you, I love that Nascar. My wife, son, daughter and son in law watch ever week. They tell me my favorite driver is whoever wins. Well I sorta like all of them. I guess favorite would be #8,22,40,28,18,20,24, well I guess I better quit.

Anyone out there? This thread started out good at the beginning of the year and then I tried to get it going again. And going to try once more. So, how's everyone's favorite driver(s) doing? Anyone feel bad for the string of bad luck that has followed Ricky Rudd in the past 3 weeks? What about Jimmie Johnson? Is he for real or will he end up having a followup season like Harvick is having this year? And what about last year's champion, Jeff Gordon? When will he win again? All this and more if we can get some participation going again with this thread. Enjoy the race at Michigan this weekend! I have digital cable with Adelphia with InDemand pay-per-view and I saw an advertisement for a preview on in-car broadcasts from 5 cars being available for free this weekend. I plan on checking it out and let me know if anyone else gets it and does the same. I'm still upset with the NASCAR website changing the netcast stuff to a "pay for" format instead of the free format that had been around before. You know they weren't losing money because of broadcasting it free! Have a great one! Shalom, Jeff

Jeff, Being from Michigan, I really wanted to get down to the track this weekend. I won't make it this time, but maybe in August. I had someone want to sell me his tickets for Sunday's race, I just could'nt afford it this time. Should be a good race if they ever get it off. The forcast calls for rain all weekend. My fav is Sterling. He's having a great season. Got a lousy qualifying effort this week, but I think he'll move to the front. That Chip Ganassi team is real strong and he always has a good car on Sunday. I think Jimmie Johnson is the real deal. I never saw too much in him when he was driving in the Busch series, but I guess Gordon & Hendrick must've saw what he had. They put him in a strong car and the kid has a real chance of becoming the first rookie ever to win the W/C title! Neat looking car too. Do you collect diecast? I've got about 170 or so. My latest is Sterling Marlin's #40 Coors Lite Dodge. Great looking car. Got a lot of money invested into it now. Being as how I'm not working, I've gotta take it easy on purchasing more for now. Anyway, nice to hear from more Nascar fans. Have a great weekend. And pray the rain holds off for tomorrow.
Glenn

Well Glenn, Next time you are offered tickets and don't want to go, let me know. I'll buy them. I go to MIS at least once a year, and try to get to another track at least once a year. My brother and I generally meet at some race track and do the camping thing. Last year it was Pocono. Great race track. I'd say it's the one I like the best regarding atmosphere. Went to Talladega last year and Pocono the year before. MIS is my least favorite track because the traffic is just a pain. Kind of planning on going to the night race at Bristol this year, but tickets for that are very rare. My favorite driver is ????? I'm struggling since Dale left us. I guess Junior is kind of my favorite, but anyone in a Chevy is good enough for me. Or I find myself pulling for guys like Schrader, as I would like to see him in Victory lane again, or Benson, who will pull one out one of these days. All in all, I just like the whole atmosphere.

Hey, everyone. Weather held and we had racing yesterday. Not a bad race, either. And as predicted, very few yellows. Great finish though I wish they had red flagged it quicker for a bit few more laps of final racing before the end. Matt did a great job holding off DJ who was hot to trot with 4 fresh tires! Surprised that Jimmy Johnson fell back but when you spin your tires at a restart, you can lose alot of ground very quickly. (I think he's the real thing, too, Glenn.) And how about Johnny Benson with a 6th place finish!??! Have to say, I'm bummed that Ricky Craven had the flat the put him down a lap. He had a really good car and didn't lose another lap after that. Oh well. He didn't drop in the standings, so that's good. Just hope he keeps up the steady performances that he's been putting out this year. As to your question about the diecasts, Glenn, no I haven't boughten any. I just got back into following the sport last year after not watching it for about a decade. But I do collect caps so I'll probably get into those. Bought my first one on Sunday. A Tide Racing cap. Got so support my local guy! Sounds like you have quite a collection, though! Made friends with a couple last December on a cruise and he's a hugh NASCAR fan. He's actually a photographer who until a couple of years ago went to all the races and photographed. I guess he's got quite a collection himself. Says he has a room dedicated just for his NASCAR stuff. Do you have that yourself, Glenn? Well, next week is Sears Point and the road course. Some people don't like it. I do, though. Just nice to see a difference other than always making lefthand turns. But that's just my honest opinion. Anyone else like Sears Point? Enough for now. Everyone take care! Shalom, Jeff
